Yes it appears to be medium format slide film. You can get slide film in 35mm format you know. Anyway, the format is irrelevant to the point I was trying to make - I was just showing an example of what one might expect from expired film, so hopefully you would see that you could use it for experimentation rather than throwing it in the bin.

As for negative, check the flickr link that riot sky posted (http://www.flickr.com/groups/expired/pool/) - there are plenty of examples of out-of-date 35mm negative film on there.

Hey, if you don't want to use it then send it this way, I'd be more than willing to experiment with it.

Yes I know - I was looking at the size

As for sending it your way -well you havent replied to my pm about that camera yet dude!!

The FlickR stuff is subjective though isn't it? I mean what would it look like if it wasnt out of date? :)

That expired site is doing my head in

barely any of them have details (i.e. expiration date) and some of them arent even on expired film, they're just cross processed

Yep and I notice a lot of them are done on soviet cameras so different effects again!

PM the artists though I'm sure they'll be able to give you details if you ask :)

<edit> the guy you've linked to is also using a coloursplash flash so yet again another difference

They need some rules like on strobist group, you're only allowed to submit pics taken with off-camera flash, and you must provide details, otherwise the pics get deleted from the group.

Its not unreasonable to have a rule that pics submitted to the 'expired' group should actually be taken on expired film...

I once developed some film that was 3 years old and it was fine
I'm still working my way through some rolls of Konica IR that I bulk-bought in 1991 that went out of date in 1992, and they develop absolutely fine.

Mind you, I keep all my film in a fridge.

That remnds me, I did a couple of shoots the other day with fuji npc, nps and nph, all dated 2003 - unfortunately I kept them in the freezer, so, unfortunately, they might come out perfectly normal :(

I did move them from freezer to freezer though, as I've moved house about 4 times since then - so hopefully the temperature fluctuation may have done some interesting looking damage :)
