Film Of The Year

Bloody hell, I've only seen five of the top 20 – Cloverfield, Iron Man, Kung Fu Panda, Wall E and The Dark Knight. The only way I get to see new films these days is on DVD or when I take the kids (in the last 12 months I've sat through Space Chimps and some weird 3D thing about flies in space FFS).

I meant to go see Persepolis as it sounded very good but never got around to it. That's kind of been the story of my cinema-going this year, lots of near misses. Think I'll renew my Rio friends card as that makes me go more regularly.

There Will Be Blood deserves the top spot. It's the only film that's actually made me laugh out loud thinking about it, as the credits rolled.

It's strange but true, that's kind of how i felt about it. Totally absorbing movie i thought, that throws a massive curveball at the end.

If you'd read the OP it would have been clear. It's done like that because it works best, as the best albums annual thread makes clear.

So tough, frankly.

Well it doesn't appear to have worked at all well does it? Upset posters, secret ballots, 27 Dresses,....shall I go on?

You can go on as much as you want.

For what it's worth, 27 Dresses would have scored exactly as many points as your suggestion. That's how democracy works. Sorry and all.

its hardly fucking deepthroat is it. people send pms, jefe adds them up and does a list, we all sit around and chat about it. so, no, please don't go on cos you're gitting tedious.

oh, and as I said, if you want the spreadsheet where I calculated all the nominations, PM me your email address, eh?

it was a lovely film. if i'd have remembered it it would have made my top 5

Top 5, seriously?! It didn't even get a single vote across the whole of urban.

Although I remember on the thread a lot of people like it, I'm still completely and utterly mystified.

Urban at its finest. A conspiracy theory about a film of the year thread. Perfect way to end the year really.
