Have got some (Bolands) Fig Rolls today.
They are very nice.

If you're gonna bump, bump hard.

But ShiftyBagLady is still here and I demand an explanation of this 'dandelion coffee' thing.
It's the root of a dandelion which has been roasted to develop a rich flavour. Hard to describe what it tastes like... I'd say it tastes like a combination of coffee with malt extract... only not bitter and not sweet...
I like it. It's traditionally used as a liver tonic and to support the digestive system. You can get some instant stuff which tastes like really milk instant coffee and is not as nice as using teh roasted root but is a lot more convenient.

I'm on the side of not liking fig rolls.

I think a biscuit should be crisp and firm and fig rolls are too yielding, almost like cake. And I don't like cake. And I don't like Jaffa Cakes either, even though some people think of those as biscuits.

Now a Ginger Nut. There's a biscuit!

If I don't have a whole packet to demolish, there's sometimes dates / figs plus digestive biscuits as an alternative.

I don't mind the taste of them, it's just that thick wodge of fig in the middle that means they're just a bit too chewy.

They're also rubbish for dunking.

The Italian brand, Mulino Bianco do a version called Settembrini which is my 'go to' fig roll. Less stodgy but still virtually undunkable

If there was a biscuity centre, wrapped in a layer of fig with a final casing of that pastry stuff they use, then you could dip one end into a glass of vinsanto (for example), suck on the other end until the alcohol has been drawn through. Then you have an alcohol soaked centre waiting for you as a reward for getting through all the fig.
