Fifth test thread

if I were Oz, I'd go for broke and play Macgill AND warner

think England could struggle against that.....

Macgill has the highest average of wickets taken per match than any other Ozzie bowler on this tour....
Well said chegrimandi. I haven't seen much of MacGill but I did see a googly that was a real wicket-taker rather than a variation. Also, he'd make Warne bowl out of his skin at the other end. How good does the poor guy have to be to get a game?

spin would have been

a good partner for warnie last test.
good luck to the aussies next test
popular concencus in aust is maybe the batsmen could have done a little better.full marks to english bowlers though.aussie bowlers have done their job and i thing magill is a good thing and he can bat a bit as well
bush hayden and get katich to open and gilly moves up to number 6
aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi

aussies looking shit at chelmsford, essex have put on over a houndred without loosing a wicket at almost 7 an over

Essex 328-1 after 70 overs at Chelmsford, Alistair Cook is 181*, Ravinder Bopara 78*, Will Jefferson 64. MacGill has 0/91 off 16 overs

Fair play Essex, bat through to tomorrow night and deny them any batting practice.

Aussies getting trounced. :D

If they don't get much (or even any) batting in the match it's their own fault. Only playing 2 day matches against the counties and thus treating them as extended nets always had the potential to backfire.

Ian Bell has 50 at Lord's but is batting with a runner, he's done summat to his hamstring.

Alistair Cook 200 up. First first class double ton, his sixth century and not yet 21. Great things beckon

Aren't bowlers meant to take wickets? What's been happening to the Aussies? I mean, I know they don't have Warne and McGrath, but surely they should be able to do better than this.

Dunno but innit great to see them taken to the cleaners by two English born and bred 20 year olds :)

Can Essex reach 1000? ;)

That's a thought, maybe Essex should go for the all time record (off the top of my head, I think it's held by Victoria who've managed over 1000 twice - both in the 1920s).

And the England squad is:

Michael Vaughan (captain), James Anderson, Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Ashley Giles, Stephen Harmison, Matthew Hoggard, Geraint Jones, Simon Jones, Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Strauss, Marcus Trescothick.

which begs the question. why the fuck has Tremlett been in the squad all summer?

there blameing the fact he's been in the squad and played ery little first class cricket, that he aint at he's best...

james anderson is a very much improved player than he used to be...but not up there with the quiality of pace bowlers we have had latley

ffs

Essex fucking declared overnight and gave Australia a day of batting. Hayden's hit 150 (retired).

Cheers Ronnie, let's let them play themselves into form and let their bowlers put their feet up eh?

Someone please go to Chelmsford and shoot Irani for me

Still no reason to be giving them an extended net today. We wanted them sweating buckets out in the field all day.

I've always thought Ronnie Irani was a twat, this proves it.

51 @ 32 this season.

According to Nasser, they were debating whether or not to bring Cork back, hence the delay in naming the squad this morning.

Fuck me, I hope Jonah makes it.

The agreed rules for the match limited them to 115 overs apparantly.

Really? So why not bat for the full 115 overs then?

Ronnie Irani still a twat btw, past offences of twattishness taken into consideration :p
