FFS: "Terror Free" petrol in the USA

If the American-sponsored wars in the middle east are just about oil, as many of their opponents suggest, then if America can satisfy itself by relying on home-grown supplies it diminishes that particular justification for those wars.

A good thing, yes?

(As an environmentalist, I'd say that they should attempt to reduce demand too, but that's another story.)

It can't though. It would have to reduce consumption and/or increase prices.

It can't though, not just with things like this. It would have to reduce consumption and/or increase prices.

you think OMAHA is in Canada? I know it's a big place but blimey

"A "terror-free" petrol station has opened in the US city of Omaha.

The Terror-Free Oil Initiative (TFO), which runs the outlet, says none of its fuel comes from countries which it believes are supporting terrorism.

It currently uses only petrol from the US and Canada, rejecting supplies from the Middle East and elsewhere."

How about you? Do you expect anyone to take you seriously or believe what you say? You don't discuss anything, you make cheap shots.

Just in case your memory is failing you, you said.

Canada is a champion of terrorism?

I asked you how you managed to extrapolate this from Aldebaran's post, since there was nothing in that post to suggest this.

As an environmentalist, you must also realise that its further from Fairbanks to NY than it is from Caracas to NYC - just cos its in the USA, doesnt mean its closer

The US is looking at Oil shale for its future domstic prodeuction - do you have any idea what this entails ?

1) find mountain with oil shale
2) crush mountain to extract oil
3) dump crushed mountain aback in original positon

Ans lets be honest here, as much as we love deserts etc, we can do what the fuck we lioke with them pretty much and theyll still be places that no one wants to live in and have a minimal effect on the Global ecosystem - whereas the Tundra & ice of Alaska has the potential fuck us right up should it be mismanaged or abused.

I wonder how and where they plan to find "terror free oil" in a nation that is the champion in terrorism and terroristic activities.

I don't think the idea of terror free petrol is a bad one. What's wrong with it in essence, it's basically about trying to be more self sufficient - while handing over less cash to the Wahabi militant loons in Saudi and the corrupt arseholes in other parts of the M.E?

Fail to see why the usual crowd of morons are running their mouths like that really know shit anyway

Tell you what, get a cup of cocoa, go to bed and read little jack frost, I'm sure that'll make you feel better.

 What a peanut brain.

Now put it in words that make a coherant sentence.

You do know people laugh at the overuse of the rolleyes smiley, don't you?

You missed out the nuclear aspect, turning shale oil into fuel for SUVs involves vast amounts of water being turned into steam. Something nuclear power plants are pretty good at.

So care to tell me where Canada was mentioned in any of this? Anyone with half a brain would realise that Aldebaran was referring to the US and not Canada. Only someone with an interest in spreading disinformation would extrapolate what you have from that post.

You're pathetic.

It would be nice if you dealt seriously with points made in a debate. You do seem to style yourself as a champion of the kind of illogic and unreason that creates a lot of problems in the world. I'd describe your style as facile. It's characterised by laziness, ignorance, and apparent deliberate, trollish stupidity and misunderstanding. It comes over as a kind of high functioning sociopathy.

But worse, it's tiresome. Initially it may be amusing, but it rapidly becomes tiresome :)

I've argued many of these points umpteen times with some of the p and p posters who've been here awhile. Initially, I would put lots of time and effort into carefully crafting an argument, backing it all up with research etc.

After a time, it became obvious that with certain posters, that wouldn't have any effect. Their minds were set in stone long before I came along. And since they were in the majority, they could leave with the impression that they were correct.

Now, I say whatever I feel like saying, and I'll take as much or as little time to say it or work out an argument, as I feel like at the moment.

If you don't like it, put me on ignore.

When did you do that JC, was it before I joined? I've only ever seen the derails, distraction tactics and so on. I freely admit that you're a master of those, but I've never as far as I can recall seen you try to seriously argue a case based on evidence of decent provenance.

If that's the case, why have you responded to posts I've made on scores of occasions?

Done. Goodbye JC.

salaam.

Aldebaran, knowing that I'm now attempting to educate myself on the basics of islam, would prefer that there not be a dialogue between us.

Given his true beliefs, I can understand his reasoning.
