Festivals Post Covid

Might go to a low-key invite only festival (ok, just a 2 day rave in a field really) organised by my mate's brother, but I wouldn't splash out on tickets in advance this year for anything big

I've got rolled over tickets for shambala and Balter........ I'll have had both jabs by then, I've had covid, and I've worked with Covid patients this entire time, so I'll just crack on with it. I can completely understand people's hesitancy though.

Covid isn't going anywhere, its going to need yearly jabs like flu. Treatment for acute covid is relatively good compared to a year ago, so on the balance of risk and mitigation, beyond wearing a hazchem suit 24/7, I don't know what I can do beyond being jabbed.

My mate posted in excitement that he's been booked for some work at a dance festival. When I messaged to ask if he really thinks it'll go ahed he avoided the question. Another mate who works for SJM said he doesn't think they will.

Either way, I think this year I'll be happy to party with all the people I haven't seen for the past year. Festivals can wait.

the festivals I'm likely to go to are pretty chill, so I don't have many worries tbh
Same. Haven't been to any "big" festivals bar Glastonbury for the best part of a decade (Download 2012).

The ones I have lined-up for this year are nice low-key ones, and all but one don't have any form of dance muzak.

And what about Carnivals? I usually go to Leicester and Notting Hill Carnivals. I missed them last year. But the appeal (apart from the bass and dancing in the sunshine) is the crowds, the jostling. Sadly can't seem them happening again this year.

Well the plan is that restrictions will have been lifted by then. I think if that happens then the organisers will get things like that on and people will go. Obviously that's a big if and whether it would be a good idea or not is another question altogether but it's certainly more than possible they'll happen I think.
