Ok on a more serious note. Any views to the topic in general chat about fathers rights. One of the major critisms to feminism that it swings rights to one extreme to the other no middle ground. Now we see rights being taken away from men to give them to women. Ie the great problem of divorce laws.

Can feminism ever be realistic? rights and equality for women without men coming off second best, btw this is my attempt to get this topic back where i found it.

I think feminism is realistic. Feminism is not about giving women power and fucking men over it's about having everyone equal. And I don't think that feminism is the cause of the way divorce courts favour women, indeed it's old fashioned patriarchal gender roles that mean we (we as a society, I certainly don't think this) think women must be the best parent no matter what the circumstance. It should be equal and thus it should be whatever is in the best interests of the children not what some fusty old judge who think men can't handle raising kids decides because in his day you clipped the round the ear and sent them to the Nanny.

I repeat (and this is such a simple concept that very few non-feminists seem to grasp) feminism is about EQUALITY. Equal de facto and de jure rights for all genders (it's not about men and women either, it's men, women, trans and all the shades inbetween having rights too) to exist without being discriminated against due to their gender, race, appearance or any other bullshit arbitrary factor.

Everyone equal is never going to be realistic. Also feminism by it's very defination is about one gender, if it wasn't it be called a different name to reflect that.

Maybe being more direct in what you do want instead of a utopian style view. What does feminisn want to achieve? without the idealistic view added to it.
