Favourite type of cheese?

DRINK?

bummed by karmachameleon
Done before I'm sure though can't see it....

Simple really no poll or restrictive options...

What is you favourite cheese / cheeses ( pl?) and how do you eat it?

Could be anything from Edam to Feta to Gouda and eaten on its own in a sanger, on biscuits or melted and licked of your partners quivering body:confused:

For moi has to be on bicuits though from there take your choice, a good mature cheddar is hard to beat though stilton, camenbert anything crumbly Caerphily etc are all up there. Have also found a little market that sells really hot chilli cheese which disgusts my purist ideals yet tastes unbelievable, really hot, really tasty tis something else.

Oh I love cheese just want to talk about it:)

I love cheese, it's one of my favourite foods.

My fave cheeses are (in no particular order) - brie, chevre, halloumi, jarlsberg, good quality mature cheddar, mozzarella and cream cheese.

You can't go far wrong with a lovely smoked applewood cheddar. Simple, but effective.

Much like my bad self.

agree with the majority though never been a huge fan of halloumi / feta ...jarlsberg...mmmmmmh.... cheese is wondeful:)

Only one?
There are so many amazing cheeses.
Can I have one for each country? just off the top of my head:
Chaource [Fr] is amazing.
Wigmore [GB] is fantastic.
Etivaz [Ch] is superb.
A very mature Gouda [Nl] can be dribble-worthy.
Dolcelatte [It], mmm yes please.
Oh, there are so many, I really want some cheese now!

I'm with you there:cool: My partner hates any cheese but mild economy-causes more fights than if he was engaging on a (cheese)string of affairs:(

Semi-soft strong feety ones like raclette, comte, morbier, gubbeen, and stinky ones, like Celtic Promise, stinking bishop, pont leveque.

best on crackers.

I cant decide, I fucking love cheese.

Like lots of veggies I eat way too much of it.
I read on that crap Have Your Say thing on the BBC website that veggie were too thin, anemic and health obsessed to give a sod about Mars bars having animal waste in. If I could get my big veggie ass up from the sofa and my plate of cheesy chips with added monster munch, I would have a right go at them:D

Can't have one favourite, sorry

Mature cheddar inna truckle.

Ya(AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR)g... Garlic ya(AAAARRRRRRRRRR)rg is a particular favourite - the cheese is wrapped in wild garlic before its matured. Lovely subtle flavour, none of that overpowering french crap.

Haloumi... Mmmm...

Mozzarella de bufala - The good shit. The stuff that melts in your mouth like some gorgeous creamy something.

Real Somerset Farmhouse Cheeder
Blue Stilton
Gruyere
Local Swiss Bergkäse (otherwise know as Old Toe Nail)

And of course lashings of Fondue with premium kirsch, truffle oil and a block of gorgonzola thrown in.

Damn right. Sounds lush.

Sod all that fancy shmancy crap. Cheese should be simple, solid, strong, preferably smoked.

None of that crap that drips out of the packaging or looks like some sort of septic discharge. So definitely no French "cheese".

I love parmesan, I can nibble away on a hard bit of parmesan for aaages ;)

then it's mozarella, strong cheddar, goat's, feta

I don't know where to start, but off the top of my head:
- a really good strong cheddar obviously
- roqefort
- mont d'or
- any really strong goats cheese, particularly those coated in ash
