I grew up with the original series - mostly in black and white.
At the time (early 70s), it seemed quite sophisticated in the context of everything else that was on the 3 TV channels It is of course proposterous now....
The start of TNG coincided with the end of my only real relationship at 27, and a new job, so has been my "friend in the corner" for these past 20 years.
The other 3 series have been a poor substitute mostly.

For me the original series, definitely (which I saw in the 70's). IMO Star Trek without Spock is like Queen without Freddie.
