It's scientific fact that JLP is the best captain on the best series. He is the only one who can act. I do a cracking impression of patrick stewart as well.

TNG remains true to the spirit of star trek, new adventures, gunboat diplomacy and troi in a catsuit. It has it all

The dominion war was a massive anti-climax, quark was like a shitter version of that annoying nonce cook off of Voyager, and sisko is the most wooden of all starfleet actors.

It did have Dax and the Defiant, but other than that it was made of fail.

Dax vs Troi.

Personally I think the freakish Troi centred episodes are some of the weakest in TNG. Simpering while aliens rape your head once a season is stupid.

Dax is kickass.

Neelix is the nadir of the Star trek Universe along with Chakotay. No comparison with the devious troll that was Quark.

whats wrong with chokaty ffs? he has spirit guides and cool tatooes. Plus he is Maquis. Next you'll be trying to tell me belanna doesn't pwn:rolleyes:

Troi was so wet it gets unbearable. i have to switch off some tng because of her. neelix though is without a doubt the worst character on any Star Trek series ever. apart from Wesley Crusher possibly.

quark was wicked, proper character development, something that DS9 did so much better than any of the other series

Chakotay was pussy whipped from about episode 3.

Utter bellend.

Totally unsexy first officer. Shit at fighting.

TNG is the winner, hands-down, but a handful of really shit scripts got through.
There is absolutely no excuse for the "macrovirus" one where the things acquired mass at a phenomenal rate with no significant input of energy.

By the final season Quark is a frickin sage. He went from being comedy villain in the manner of Delboy to a Shakespearean style Fool, telling truths and jogging consciences of major characters.

The stuff he had to say about war, and the true cost of it was so different to the traditionally heroic depiction of war in other shows in the franchise. Loved him the episode where Nog lost his leg.

Trekkie > TNG 7.32%
Non-Trekkie > TNG 26.83%
Trekkie > DS9 24.39%
Non-Trekkie > DS9 12.20%

proving that people who know what they're talking about prefer DS9

I can't believe I didn't catch the DS9 tribble episode. I'm going to download that bad boy and have a tribble episode marathon tomorrow

It's a toss up between Voyager and TNG for me. Mainly because Voyager was on regularly when I started watching Star Trek and TNG because Captain Jean Luc Picard is the best captain, hands down.

Never got into DS9, my first thought was "stationary space station? what is this shit?". I'm far too young to watch the original with a straight face, cheesy acting and polystyrene sets don't sit well with my modern graphic spoilt mind.

I did like Enterprise a bit too, I liked the fact that the Federation weren't ridiculously advanced compared to the other species and occasionally (almost always) got their asses handed to them. That and Sub-Commander T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) was the obligatory hottie in a body suit.

Also to add, the holographic doctor was probably my favourite character out of all of the series. But I could kill Reg Barkley with a rusty knife to the face.

I'm ambivalent on DS9, in that it's science fiction so as such is naturally superior to most shite on tv. But out of the lot it is the least good

I'm no trekkie but I like the (sometimes quite deep) philosophical angle to TNG- specially at 12.30 am after a few drinks. Patrick Stewart is always a plus as well.

anyway as this thread and most trek forums confirm, people who actually like Star Trek prefer DS9 on the whole. those who don't like Trek, prefer TNG

well i like star trek but never really got into TNG or DS9. who has a 13 year old boy and a social worker on the bridge? and whats the point of everone being onboard a space station?

the best thing that came out of those two series was the bjorn borgs

The poll is essentially flawed though because there's trekkies who just love the shows and wouldn't identify as trekkies (owing to much more refined taste in science fiction). Then ther's the klingon speaking bat'leth wielding bloke who LARP's at the weekend.

In between this is a whole range of people who may or may not identify as 'trekkie'. So the inclusion of the false trekkie/non trekkie dichotomy invalidates the results.
