Favourite Stand Up Comedians

I watched Carr last night, and even though I don't like the guy much anyway, it was much worse than I thought. He has no charisma or charm, just stood on a step rolling out unremarkable one-liners one after another with no enthusiasm or skill. Awful

Ben cannot take the stage without becoming overcome by the fumes of his own hypocrisy and having to go for a lie down/wank

Everyone who has a political conscience is capable of being hypocritical. Don't see why Ben should be any different really. Its just degrees of innit.

I'll echo Stewart Lee, Jerry Sadowitz, Dave Chapelle and David Cross and throw in Simon Munnery, who is very funny as long as he isn't pissed.

John Shuttleworth (although i think I've now seen him enough), Doug Stanhope (although he was nearly too shambolic last week), Patton Oswalt and, best of all, Stewart Lee. Quite like Mitch Hedberg in small-ish doses.

Zoe Lyons was absolutely amazing when I saw her at London Pride 2007. My daughter (aged 8 at the time) heckled her, and she based her whole act around my dragon-suited child - either completely off the cuff or old material seamlessly included. The whole crowd was cracking up. I'd love to see her again.
