Favourite song from Srgt Pepper

'A Day In The Life' for me, too.

I prefer 'Abbey Road' and most of the White Album to Sgt Pepper, though.

'Mr Kite' has gotta be one of the worst things they ever did, for me. Along with 'Octopus' Garden' and 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La Da' <shudders>

Except by you, who recommended it at as your favourite song from Sgt Pepper for some reason?

I thought Bluestreak was referring to the album. As for the song, I quite like it, but that doesn't stop it being part of an over-rated album. I mean quite good, but considered groundbreaking and simply wonderful? = over-rated.

In theory I could still think of it as my favourite song on the album even if I hated it, if I hated all the others even more! I don't hate it. But the whole album is over-rated.

In fact the whole Beatles is over-rated.

Although their covers of Twist and Shout and Dizzy Miss Lizzy are pretty good, and they wrote some pretty good songs occassionally.

innit. to my mind those tracks alone should ensure that the beatles' reputation is severely reduced. but apparently not. it's not even like they happened in the twilight of their career...

it is an overrated album, there were much better albums released that year, and better albums released by the beatles.

but still She's Leaving Home and A Day in the Life are fucking brilliant.

Along with a few others here, A Day in the Life and She's Leaving Home are my faves.

Heard a great cover of She's Leaving Home on radio 2 t'other night - dunno who it was by though.

Boring album boring band in my opinion.

Introducing The Sonics was released in the same year and is a thousand times less pretentious yet infintely more interesting.
