favourite smiths track

Gotta be "Girl Afraid". The descriptive accuracy of the teenage mating ritual always makes me laugh. :)

There are so many, so many many many. But if I had to choose one, then Stop me if you think you've heard this one before. Full blast. Beautiful.

Nothing’s changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
...only slightly, only slightly less than I used to, my love

Can I just add that I saw them twice in concert in Manchester, once at Salford University and the other time at the Free Trade Hall, and I've never ever experienced anything like it again, although Nick Cave wasn't far off. Sublime. :)

Two album closers stand out for me .......

Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
I Won't Share You

As for Morrissey's solo stuff, I always had a perverse liking for Ouiji Board.

To be honest I've got a little sick of the songs I used to revere - Please please please and there is a light. Goods songs they are, but overplayed somewhat - my own fault of course.

I still think How Soon Is Now is gut wrenchingly sad though, and I love it.

<trying not to be drawn into morrissey solo debate>

I'm very jealous of you seeing them live, goldenecitrone! I saw Morrissey a couple of times doing Smiths tracks, but it wasn't quite the same. Although seeing Morrissey in itself was fabulous. :D

I love ouija board, ouija board as well, especially the end...

"It spells S-T-E-V-E-N...

P-U-S-H-O-Double-F..."

*lol* The video with Joan Simms in it was very funny.

November Spawned a Monster is a favourite of mine too.

Morrissey album closers: Speedway.

As for the best of Moaning Mozzarella's solo tunes, I vote:

'Suedehead'
'Every Day Is Like Sunday'
'Disappointed'
'Alsatian Cousin'
'Late Night Maudlin Street'
'I Don't Mind If You Forget Me'
'Angel Angel Down We Go Together'
'Margaret On The Guillotine'
'Dial A Cliche'
'Little Man What Now'
'Last Of the Famous International Playboys'
'November Spawned A Monster'
'Piccadilly Palare'
'I'm Frank'
'There's A Place In Hell For Me And My Friends'
'You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side'
'Now My Heart Is Full'
'The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get'
'Lifeguard Sleeping, Girl Drowning'
'Boxers'
'The Teachers Are Afraid Of The Pupils'
'The Operation'
'Irish Blood English Heart'
'I'm Not Sorry'
'The First Of The Gang To Die'

...will do for starters. :D
