Probably right.

CharlieAddict said:puppets!!!!
almost a perfect album except for that goddamn awful track 'leper messiah.'
Monkeygrinder's Organ said:Definitely Master of Puppets.![]()
Cheesypoof said:Master of the Puppets - I love them.
lightsoutlondon said:They speak very highly of you, Cpoof. So. What about Metallica?

Kid_Eternity said:Yeah the great company brought something good out in him, he was nothing without the others as proven by his musical output since he was rightly booted out of the band.![]()
Meltingpot said:He was booted out of the band because he objected to Hetfield kicking his dog, I don't see how that's "right".
Mustaine did say afterwards that there wasn't room enough for him and Hetfield in the same band, so probably it would have happened anyway.
Kid_Eternity said:He was booted out because he was an obnoxious shit.
CharlieAddict said:and ulrich isn't?
anyways, forget about hetfield vs mustaine.
kerry king can kick both their heads in.
Kid_Eternity said:Er not likely. I reckon Metallica lost its soul when Cliff died (he was the musical core of the group as admitted by James), it just took a few albums for that to manifest itself.

Kid_Eternity said:I think you may be thinking of the mix of Justice where Newsteds bass was basically none existent? You can hear Burtons on the first three albums alright...

much better than anything Metallica ever did![]()

xenon_2 said:Newsted's bass part too closely follows the rythem guitar tracks. Apparently he wasn't at the mixing sessions either so couldn't have had much of a say. Maybe being the new guy, they wouldn't have listened to him anyway.
Links? Wouldn't mind seeing that...Psychonaut said:Yeah, thats what i mean. Its a big contrast from their previous stuff where the bass had a strong presence.
In hindsight (rockstar egos aside) they were in a shaky position having lost a critical member, so it seems like a strange move to release an album with no bass (or identical bass & rhythm riffs). Theres a fan-mix of AJFA on youtube with added bass btw, if anyones interested.

Kid_Eternity said:From what I've read it was more to do with Lars and James not being able to handle having lost Cliff, and giving Newsted (Newkid at the time) a real hard time.
xenon_2 said:Yeah I've read a bit about that too. Think when he quit a few years ago, he said the piss taking never really stopped all the years he was with them. Though their apparently on better terms now.

That's news to me, never heard that one before.Monkeygrinder's Organ said:I recall reading rumours that Kirk Hammett wasn't actually on that album either, and Hetfield played all the guitar parts. Don't know if that's got any truth behind it.
