Favourite make up brand?

Mostly Christian Dior and Benefit, though I've got other favourites e.g. Boot 7 matt under foundation thingy which does a brilliant job with my shiny nose.

I've heard good things about that primer, does it come in a white bottle/tube? :)

I need a foundation brush. Any recommendations?

White tube. I swear by it too. But if you put foundation on afterwards, you have to put it on immediately or the matt stuff sort of goes into bobbles

Yep, white tube. Costs about a tenner. You have to be careful it doesn't leave a white smudge round the edge of where you apply it but that's just a matter of blending it in carefully. I use a powder foundation over the top (when I bother i.e. not often) but it works on its own if you're just wanting to sort out the shinies.

I use that too, it's great. I need some more actually, I lost the top off mine and it's gone funny.

I used to mainly use Benefit and just hope that it didn't all run out at once but it got too expensive.
I use You Rebel light tinted moisturiser, boing or erase paste concealer. I used to get bad gal mascara too but it's not waterproof.

I like urban decay too and have got a brilliant eyeshadow palette.

I use a dirt cheap collection 2000 loose powder and have just bought a fab bronzer from them too.

Basically, it's not the brand but the product so different brands are good for different stuff.

I do love Bad gal liquid eye liner

Cheers ceasare will grab some when I next go to Boots I think! (and thanks for the tip trashy!) :)

I stick to CD for mascara, foundation and liners ... but I like Benefit's Benetint and Moonbeam. I think you're right about the product v brand sparklefish, but also habit for me as well. I'm reluctant to pay for pricey product unless I know that it suits me/like it. I'm also reluctant to buy lots of cheaper stuff on spec cos I know I'll spend even more that way.

Another favourite of mine is Eve Lom's Kissmix. It's a tiny pot costing about £12.50 but it's the best lip balm ever, and lasts for ages and ages. Twas about 15 months ago since I last bought one and I use it two or three times a day, either on its own or under lipstick.

I am a make-up slut - all sorts of brands in my make-up bag:D. Generally its cheap and cheerful, but there are a few pricier bits and pieces, like a chanel lipstick that is simply wonderful.

But - I regularly use maybelline mascara, L'Oreal perfect match foundation, touche eclat (the cheaper copycat brands just don't do the samething:() and collection 2000 black liquid liner.

I was recommended Chanel foundation and I have to say it's the best one I've ever used. Not cheap though :(

Colours generally I get Rimmel - if I don't like it that much, it's cheap enough to chop and change. I do like Lancome though but it's expensive

I'm going to give Chanel a go then. Do you use concealer too?
I'll go and pick their brains in Selfridges in the week (what a hardship).

I stick to CD for mascara, foundation and liners ... .

Do you use that CD mascara that makes you look like you've got falsh lashes on?! It's bloody AMAZING, but I'm waiting for my tube of L'Oreal stuff to run out before I buy any

No, just the bog standard. Can you remember what it's called? Mine's running out and I'm due some new ...

Having done a quick bit of research, I think the stuff I'm on about is called Diorshow Blackout (spectacular volume intense black kohl ), but I wouldn't mind giving the Maximeyes one a go.

Zenie, when I can afford it I really want to invest in a good set of brushes. The MAC ones are probably the best.

i use this and it really is very good. i alternate between this and bad gal lash by benefit. both are excellent :)

Your fingers?

Yeh that's what I already use!

The thing is if you're slapping it on you really do need a good trowel, otherwise I find you end up mixing the layers up of concealer/foundation etc etc! :o

cheers Enid, god they're gonna be fortunes. They better last!

Hmmmm........it's more or less £20 though !

don't think i've ever paid that much for an item of make up !

Eyeliner: Maybelline
Foundation: MAC
Primer: Photobox
Powder: MAC
Mascara: Lancome
Blusher: MAC
Pigments: MAC
Brushes: Bobbi Brown

I used to be a total MAC baby but found a few staples from other brands that I just couldn't do without now. BTW if anyone has an Equity card they can get a discount from the covent garden MAC store and they also sell the MAC PRO lines.

Yeah I use my fingers because I got it into my head it's more hygienic (although knowing where I've been I wouldn't bet on it), but I've just bought a bottle of this so have no excuse.

Yeah they're not cheap - I welcome any less pricey recommendations. I think Body Shop brushes were meant to be pretty good?

It's the Ultimeyes that I have at the moment, which is OK. Might try that Blackout for a change ... sounds good, cheers!

I stopped wearing foundation about 5 years back but back when I did I took it very seriously stopping short of getting a custom blend at Prescriptives. I use to use a sponge to apply it which I bought from Boots.

Make-up I tend to try whatever I fancy. Last night I wore Benefit You Rebel light, Benefit Hollywood glow, Ruby and Millie smokey eyes eyeshadow (in purple), benefit moonbeam, maybelline extendalash mascara and no7 vamp lip/cheek tint.

I do have a lot of Benefit stuff which I love. I seem to drawn to urban decay for eyeshadow and my BF bought me a great palette from there about 2 years back.

Mainly Lily Lolo, who I only discovered a few months ago. Love love love the mineral foundation stuff. Especially loving the green powder – doesn't leave me looking green, like others I've used before.

Plus I do have a penchant for Nails Inc nail varnishes. I wish they weren't so damn expensive.

Hmmm yeah, Prescriptives is another option. I know they're good for colour, are they good for coverage and finish too?

Linky re: Lily Lolo? :)
I love Nails Inc. and Barry M do some nice colours toO!

Beautiful eye colours, I've got about 10 :o (although tend to stick to the same 2 or 3).

I'm going to check out Barry M then. I've got a handful of Nails Inc colours, I just bought a Ruby & Millie grey one, because I didn't want to spend the money on the Nails Inc dark grey one, but it's not that ace tbh.

Benefit's my favourite, I have some of their cream eyeshadows, liquid eyeliner, blusher (which I never use unless I'm really tanned) and lip gloss. I use a Collection 2000 green glittery liquid eyeliner, L'Oreal True Match powder, Rimmel kohl eye liner pencil, and I'm not fussy over which concealer I get.

And the most important makeup item of all...
