WATCH OUT, GEORGE, HE'S GOT A SCREWDRIVER!
'see no evil, hear no evil' (1989) gene teams up with pryor and hiller for a delightfully inappropriate screwball about a deaf man and a blind man who are forced on the run after together witnessing a murder
'the woman in red' (1984) a wilder-directed farce, with gene as a man going through a mid-life crisis and falling for a younger woman. kelly lebrock's second best movie
'stir crazy' (1980) gene teams up with pryor in this sidney poitier(!)-directed comedy about two men wrongly convicted and sent to a prison out west. there's even a rodeo contest
'the frisco kid' (1979) a polish rabbi (wilder) gets waylaid en route to his first job, in 1850s san francisco, and ends up partnered up with bandit harrison ford in this robert aldrich comedy western
'silver streak' (1976) gene's first pairing with richard pryor, a sort of cary grant-style romantic comedy thriller on a train, directed by arthur hiller
'the adventure of sherlock holmes' smarter brother' (1975) wilder tries his hand at writer-directing, and plays the deerstalkered detective's younger sibling sigerson, desperate to outdo his fraternal foe, with the help of a bumbling policeman (feldman)
'young frankenstein' (1974) brooks affectionately pastiches earlier horrors, with gene a neurotic young heir to the family of freak-builders, backed by a suitably wild-eyed marty feldman
'blazing saddles' (1974) another brooks classic, with wilder as the waco kid in this comic horse opera where plot means nothing - this is fart gags, pomposity-pricking and general mayhem
'willy wonka & the chocolate factory' (1971) okay, so it takes liberties with roald dahl's book, but gene is fab in it
'the producers' (1968) gene consummates his big-screen relationship with mel brooks with with an excellent performance as an uptight accountant dragged into a mad scam by a theatre impressario involving a musical based on the life of hitler
'bonnie and clyde' (1967) early showing, with our gene turning in a decent bit part as a nervous victim of our bankrobbing leads
other - name your poison!
