Favourite Elvis song?

My mother's favourite tune is Wooden Heart. That's in GI Blues I think. Elvis looked handsome no matter what he was wearing. Even the horrible Vegas jumpsuit thing all the impersonators insist on wearing.

I HATED him in his silly white jumpsuits

Why can't impersonators impersonate a younger Elvis :(

it's probably just much harder, if you want to do late Elvis you just need the jumpsuit and people can tell who you're doing. To look like him earlier on, you'd have to look cool and beautiful, much harder for some pipe-fitter from Melton Mowbray to pull off.

Yeah I know :(

Unfortunately NOBODY is EVER going to look as good as Elvis in his younger days

Better still, I saw them do it at Manchester Free Trade Hall back in the eighties. What a beautiful night that was. Still my favourite gig ever.

I had two spare tickets as my mates who wanted to come had a gig supporting the Guana Bats that same evening. I sold them to a tout for an extra couple of quid each. When I got inside I asked the couple next to me how much they had paid for their tickets. They had paid sixty quid each. I was gutted, more because they were real fans and I could have sold them the tickets for six quid each. Oh, well.

"Oliver's Army". ;)

When I was about 14 or 15, I met a bloke on the pier at Weston super Mare who drove the little train. He was the image of a young Elvis, and he sang me a very good version of "Can't help falling in love".
