Meh. He's all 'let's see how weird I can be'.

I know that on here, liking Lynch seems to preclude likeing Donnie Darko, and vice versa, but for me, DD is as interesting as anything by Lynch, but has the audacity to have a point

Gotta be Dune

Dunno, just that I seem to recall that we generally disagree about films, and that being the case, it would be reasonable to assume that you were a Lynch fan :D

Well I'm the only person in the world who thinks Once Upon A Time In The West is insufferable garbage so you probably needn't fret too much about my opinions.

I've only seen Mulholland Drive, somehow! Been meaning to watch several others for agessss, never seem to have got 'round to it. Mulholland is pretty brilliant, though... :)

Should I avoid Blue Velvet then...? :D

^This. In fact I'm amazed he can see to make any films at all with his head so far up his own arse.

I used to think this, like his work was bizarre for bizarreness sake or so out there it was perhaps deliberately impenetrable. Then on reaquainting with a good friend of mine he insisted we start munching down his Twin Peaks box set on a weekly basis as he was a huge fan. I didn't have the heart to say no, I watched some eps of Twin Peaks when it first aired and wasn't sold and up till then only kind of liked a couple of Lynch's films.

So I found it odd that after so many years of Lynch-"meh"-nitude and complete certainty I was going to be bored senseless by my mates Twin Peaks nights that I instead ended up completely hooked.

I ended up a big Lynch admirer, his way of working made complete sense to me - I find it strange such a mellow seeming guy can make such powerful and unsettling cinema.

I thought the culmination of events in Mulholland Drive were pretty heartbreaking. I love most of Lynch's output, but Mulholland Drive seemed to strike a chord with the sad obsession for fame so prevalent these days.

no, it's fantastic... i'd say his finest moment

I have a soft spot for Blue Velvet.....you can't beat an oxygen mask and a pair of open thighs.....Mommy!

Used to be Wild at Heart and Elephant Man, now it's Mulholland Drive and Elephant Man.

Didn't like the Twin Peaks film, but have come round to it.

Dune has its moments, but it's lacking impact. And feels very rushed. Down to studio interference, I know.

Vilneuve has improved the tale vastly.
