Favourite Corrie Storylines

Was it Minnie Caldwell or Martha Longhurst that died sitting in the snug with a milk stout? I saw that too but can't remember which one it was.

Bugger, I've always remembered it as her using an iron with a dodgy plug, not only that but I can visualise it  :o

old age eh :(

my favourite storyline was '79 - the near death of Tracy Barlow, Deirdre leaves Tracey in her pushchair while she pops into the Rovers for a word with Annie Walker, moments later there is a loud crash - Deirdre runs outside and in the very spot where she left Tracy is a 6ft pile of timber, next to the pile a lorry ,turned on its side and smoking from the crash. The episode ends with Deirdre hysterically pulling away at the wood screaming for Tracy. Luckily all ended well as it transpired that seconds before the crash Tracy had been abducted by a crazed baby snatcher thus escaping being crushed to death by the lorry's load.

Actually, I'll give the writers credit too, for making the Battersbys (well, Les) a believeable role and eventually warming them into our hearts, yet without comprimising their personalities with some silly moral 180.

Does anyone rememeber reading about a group or Mancs that petitioned the show to have the Battersbys removed and declared they would never watch Corrie til it was off our screens?!
