I think Bourdain's an anti-celebrity chef.

He gets my vote, on the strength of "Kitchen Confidential", possibly one of the best cooking-related books I've ever read, though Elizabeth David gives him a run for his money...

(Having just checked Amazon for the link to that book, I see there's several other books by him, and a DVD. Hmmm... )
