Not to mention, some actors are attractive to gay people, just as some actors are attractive to other people of various types. What's negative about that?

I wish I'd brought my gun.

Looking at it, and having read High Fidelity again today. I have to say you watch Grosse Pointe Blank and it's bloody good, but Cusack and Frears nailed High Fidelity to the table even after it'd been transported across the pond. So Grosse Pointe Blank wins sort of, but it's High Fidelity that i'll watch with any future girlfriend as a 'you have to have seen this' film.

Being John Malkovich. Although i must admit, i've never got round to watching Grosse Pointe Blank... Guess I'll have to get on that fairly soon.

I thought High Fidelity was shit, although that's more from a subject matter POV than for any reasons of actual quality.

i thought it was shit a) because the book was shit and then b) because they removed the only interesting thing about the book (the rundown, dreary north london setting) and made it all shiny and successful.

Only because it's got no votes and it's such a great film, I'm voting for Say Anything. It's probably not my favourite of his films but it always seems to get over-looked in the UK, IIRC the film never got a full cinema release over here.

Oh, and the parody in Spaced of the above scene at the end of the series is hilarious too.

its 'Grosse Pointe Blank' for me really. :-p

What was the one where he did that cool thing with the can of pop?

It's the only thing I remember from it, whatever it was.

Of course! I always wondered what that scene was a reference too! It's been years since I saw Say Anything (at least 15 thinking about it)...

Was he in Con Air? Now I hate him even more! That movie made me dislike Nicholas Cage for a little bit.

You mean, ordinarily you like Nicholas Cage?

*shakes head sadly*

was he a goody or a baddie?

I loved Nicolas Cage's character in that. And his mullet.

ETA, I remember who Cusack was now!

i know Cage is sorta shit... BUT

he's great in Raising Arizona and Wild At Heart.
Wild at Heart was a cracking film. What a great opening scene!
Blue Velvet was another cracker.

Anyone fancy starting a 'Best David Lynch Film' poll?
