Favorite Chinese takeaway dish?

Excellent. Don't know why they can't do it here, although Chinese version of Thali would be even better

Hello - lunchtime specials, set meals, even Bento boxes offered by a few restaurants near to you, all provide something of the variety of thali.

Short of putting the bits on a banana leaf, what more do you want?

:p

They're almost certainly some on the back of at least some of the chinese/oriental takeway and delivery menus that drop through your letterbox. Bento on Clapham pk Road, Fujiyama and a few of the Chinese takaways for a start.

Usually miso soup plus 'starter' (dumplings/chicken wings/satay), salad and 2-3 little selections in compartmentalised tray.

There's an advert for them in that new barber on Brixton Hill if you actually keep your eyes open and walk somewhere for a change...

;) :p

Americans don't. And again, if you want seriously good curry, Canada's your place.

Never heard that said before it must be said, although places such as Vancouver are so migrant-friendly that it's prhaps more likely. Certainly had good West Indian curry over there, but not really the same. I somehow doubt many places can match England for curries though - it's virtually our national dish by default.

Just had my favourite chinese takeaway dish for lunch actually. Roast char sui pork over greens and boiled rice - the simplest are nearly always the best in my book.

I know I've been spoilt but for me theres not much to beat proper dim sum eaten in Hong Kong.

the dim sum in HK is overrated. yes it's cheaper and has slightly more variety...but dim sum is dim sum and it gets friggin' boring after years of eating the same dumpling bollocks.

last time round, i was expecting so much but it only brought back some terrible memories...

vermicelli noodles, crispy duck pancakes, good chili prawns, tepura, crispy belly pork the list goes on..

Nowadays I do prefer my japanese food though.I find there are no decent chinese places where I live and also therefore the chinese I could have is pretty depressing and msged up :(
