was that the Lovesexy tour? Cos i saw him on that - he was amazing

Possibly, I can't remember the name of the tour... :(

I was a lot of years ago (91 or 92) and I think it was at Earl's Court, or Wembley Arena...

We were only 4 rows away from the stage, there was no standing area, only seats, and he was so near us! One of the best shows I've ever been to!

at the moment, it's lets pretend we're married. that is, as usual, liable to change...
Classic, that could top it for me too.

But I look at most of the posts in this thread and think exactly the same

eta: Actually, I'll add 'Controversy' to the list.

Nothing Compares 2 U.

agreed, alphabet st., when doves cry, feel4u, purple rain and kiss in the running as well.

not a big fan though, never understood all the fuss tbh

When Doves Cry

(got a txt at 7.30am this morning asking if i wanted to go see him, have to admit i never got into his stuff but i love when doves cry)

Sometimes It Snows in April (which is being played at my funeral)

or

Raspberry Beret

It makes me sad beyond words that berets are about the only hat I can't wear :(

Sign of the Times for me, every time innit
Did you know that Sign Of the TImes is the name of the seventh day adventist publication (like the witnesses Watchtower) - and Prince was brought up as a SDA, and struggled with it ever since. The track is all about the "end times"... poor fella.

Theres a track called seven , which is utter blaspehmy to all adventists (and serious chritsians) - lyrics mean nothing to you or I but its heresy:

Lots of religious hidden meanings in prince songs though...

anyway if i had to pick only one Prince track it would be "It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night". "Parade" favourite album.

Always loved from the otherwise slightly iffy Graffiti Bridge LP.

BTW whilst looking up this track on Youtube, I also came across which is seriously fucked up! :)

No i didn't but thanx for letting me know

Fave would be between Bambi and Joy in Repetition, but it changes depending on what mood I'm in. Lolita is a very summer song, so that will be my fave soon.

Joy in Repetition
(covered)

Lolita
(check the driving) :D

Mountains from Parade comes to mind. Anyone remember the Wendy & Lisa album 'fruit at the bottom'? loved that when it came out, for the die hard Prince fans maybe? not heard it in years.

Raspberry Berry -sends me right back to a particular moment in my life. Pretty hard to choose one though.

I went to that Lovesexy tour at Wembley too. I have to say his rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U was much, much better than Sinead O'Connors, even if she did cry in the video.
