I voted for Ted, although I was a little unsure of what the poll was asking. Were we picking our favourite show or our favourite of the two characters? I just about prefer Ted as a programme but I maintain Partridge is the greatest comedy creation ever. Very few characters can operate and be funny almost totally independent of everyone else involved. Ted worked in tandem with Dougal, Jack, Mrs Doyle, Bishop Brennan, etc, but Alan needed nobody else. The only other sit-com character I can think of who can do that is Larry David.
And I'm a little ashamed to say that I drop the odd Partridge reference into everyday conversation to see if people get it, most commonly with the extra big plate and "That was just a noise" to any Geordies I know.
