Well it wasn't meant as snobbery - more an observation. Ive never been massively into dance music myself anyway.

Is it neccessarily snobbery? Surely it could just be taken to mean that although it's ostensibly dance music, computer based beats/ samples etc., it has something about it, maybe a more 'rock' structure or something, that appeals to people who don't like dance music.

If anybody found some country music that I liked I think it would be reasonable to describe it as 'country music for people who don't like country music.'

Yeah, maybe I over-reacted slightly. It’s just a comment that always seems (to me) to be aimed at the people that listen to the music, rather than the music itself. I could be wrong though.

i think that's quite a good way of looking at it. the same could be said for a lot of current upfront dnb, stuff like pendulum, sub focus, etc.
