Fatboy slim is excellent, I think a lot of people are prejudiced against him because he's so successful.

Every time I play Ya Mama at a party, Magneze says 'this is really good, who is it is?' One day he'll remember. :D

A rip off the SOS band.....genius

Agreed. The reception Beats Intl got at the Kiss launch all those years ago said volumes as to what Londoners and dance fans thought of Layton, Cook and that funny rapper fellow - the only group booed off in a hail of bottles for the whole day.

TBH, our Norm's just a musical survivor. A good party DJ, who you can't really blame for all the hype surrounding him.

Good on him for having a good time behind the decks, but he's one lazy producer by numbers. Gives the people what they want, but it's a little boring and unsubtle after a while. He's a ubiquitous consumer favourite with consistent delivery; like MacDonalds, the Ford Mondeo and Walls' sausages.

And at least he's not Armand Van Helden...

:)

Fatboy Slim: Purveyor Of Dance Music For Blokes In Suits To Dance To At Weddings

I'm pretty much completely indifferent to him. Seems like a nice enough bloke, makes the sort of record that I enjoy if someone's making me listen to Radio 1, as relief from the other stuff, but wouldn't dream of listening to at home surrounded by CDs that I actually like.

Not crap.

but not great either.

A finely honed pop sensibility - as demonstrated with his multiple sucess in multiple guises (fat boy, freak power, dub be good - dunno if he wrote stuff for the housemartins so maybe them an all )

His fatboy stuff = Very much a one trick pony - but it was a pretty good trick for a while.

Definitely dance music for people who dont like dance music.

I like Fatboy Slim and I'm not ashamed to say it. The man can programme an excellent beat.

Blokes in suits at weddings? Don't most blokes wear suits at weddings, regardless of their musical taste?

Magic Carpet Ride, Everybody Needs a Filter and Fatboy Slim is Fucking in Heaven are grrrrreat.

Dunn bout the rest of his output mind, s'all a bit formulaic. And his last 2 albums are utter gash.

Yes I know - I didn't give myself enough time to think of anything witty and incisive :o

How about "drunk accountants at office Christmas parties" or some other such cliché?
