Fashion you wish would go out of style

Those beanie hats that people wear that are extra large (baggy bit on the back)

Whats the fucking point?! It looks fucking stupid. I wear a skull cap to keep my hair out of my face, it fits me properly and even if it looks daft at least it serves a purpose

I think those kinds of beanie hats are well sexy on men.
Besides, you havent really got a case considering the monstrosity on your own head on that pic you just posted on the ugly mug thread! :p

The 80's look that has been dragging it's heels for too long.

It started off in irony in Shoreditch and it's still going strong sincerly in the sticks.

I am thoroughly sick of it, now, really really fed up. Have just been shopping in Manchester and everything has batwing sleeves.

We didn't wear that stuff in the Eighties, either, it's all the stuff that Sharon and Traceys wore that's in fashion, that and Pat Butcher sequinned tops. Nasty eighties barmaid stuff.

:mad::mad::mad:

Have we really got to post 67 without bloody tracksuits and other 'sports' type stuff. particularly on those who are clearly strangers to exercise.

Pull yourselves together and polish some bloody shoes!:mad:

Knitted uggs are truly vile. And why does anyone where them in summer, when they can wear pretty sandals instead and have cool feet. It truly is a mystery. :hmm:

I don't mind knitted Uggs as long as they're not all grubby, caved in and collapsed with paper thin soles, which most of the ones I've seen, are. Bin them and buy some new ones FFS!

I would also like batwing sleeves consigned to that great fashion repository in the sky. They were bad enough the last time around and the person who decided they should be in fashion again should be shot. No, scrap that - should be disembowelled and THEN shot. Shooting alone would be too good for them. I can't abide Ugg (and all the cheaper copycat) boots either - expensive, impractical and they look grim. Oh and shoe boots - wtf? Wear shoes OR boots, not these godawful abominations of footwear.

Ummm.......I think thats all.:o

Thing is, the garms people are listing that ''annoys'' them arent even that outlandish tbf, just regular fashion choices people make which makes me think what is exactly ''acceptable'' to these people?

I mean, I could not like an item, but then see them on someone incorporated in the right outfit and it can all look so right and changes the way I see that item... that's what fashion is about for me, iyswim?

hoodie, baggy jeans.

what else is needed?:D

Oh and in my not so humble opinion leggins always look shit, ALWAYS.

Other then on this daisy chick i used to fancy why quite often wore the skirt leggings things and managed to make it look good. BUT THATS THE ONLY EXCEPTION EVER, EVER!

Yes, exactly. None of us deriders are feeling threatened by people's outlandish fashion statements and wanting everyone to look the same because we're terrified of anything different. We're passing judgement on everyday items of clothing and saying we think they look shit or not shit.

I expect to see all you blanket defenders of clothing over in the Music section forthwith, robustly advocating for Oasis and Keane and U2, and calling everyone who hates them losers :)

Fashion is a bit more interactive than what kind of music a person likes. An item of clothing or a 'look' can be interpreted in many different ways. One person rocking an ugg boot or a skinny jean can look very different depending on how it's worn/by whom. There's only so much you can do with a Keane song. ;)

And I like sequins! I wore a t-shirt with sequins on yesterday to work. :o I am a sucker for sparkles.

I disagree actually. Plenty of times I've heard covers of songs I hate that have revealed something I love about that song. And vice versa. I can think of several people I'd like to hear singing Keane songs.

Those gladiator sandals girls have been wearing this summer - totally unsexy, only about 1 in 100 looks any good in them.

I knew you'd say ''remixes'' but how many regular people get to remix songs? You change the form/style/artist and it ceases to be Keane so you know what I meant... that's like saying ''i like plastic sunglasses and when the plastic is reshaped and reformed, into, say a bangle, I like that too.'' That's not quite the issue here.

For example, there are items of clothing im personally not too keen on, but I've seen them looking fantastic on other people and it's quite inspiring to see how they've teamed it up to make it look good/interesting is all i meant. It's just a bit silly to write off ''Skinny jeans'' or ''beanies'' as all shit. Some people like to wear a bit more than regular fit jeans and a cotton t-shirt. Even when outfits go a bit wrong, it's still inspiring to me.

Funnily enough, most women don't wear clothes to be "sexy" most of the time. I couldn't give a shit whether I look sexy or not - I wear clothes that I like and which I consider stylish.
