Farewell La Liga on UK TV

Sky Sports have lost coverage of Spanish football for at least the next three years to Eleven Sports ( owned by Leeds owner). There could be a march by match buy back arrangement with Sky or BT Sport but nothings been said yet. In the past five years Sky have lost the CL and Europa League, Italian League, French League, German League.

They're so obsessed with the English premier league that they routinely pay stupid money just to outbid their nearest rival for the majority of the games. That they don't then have enough left for the other leagues is no surprise.

Sky are ruiners of everything. Catalysts for the creation of a far removed game culture obsessed with branding rights, official partners, 'fan zones' and corporate hospitality packages. Fuck all that.

Looking at their model in other countries, it actually seems good, many platforms supported and streaming. Not sure how much it actually is, and what they will have rights too in the UK as well.

I doubt many would sub to a channel purely for la liga, but for a service that's provided as an app, or an extension of facebook/twitter/twitch/amazon prime/chromecast etc and not necessarily via satellite/cable/tv and if they improve their portfolio for UK offering of sports, then they probably have the right idea at the right time.

I would never subscribe to Sky even if I could afford it, but as a loser and non-lifer who quite likes Spanish football, depending on the price and the amount of games shown I would be interested potentially in whatever platform this is. I can't find any details about pricing though, if it's reasonable and the platform is decent like BT Sport's one then I am planning on subbing to it.

Over here in Portugal subscription to one service ie Sports TV gets you 90% of the Portuguese League ( the remaking games are either free to air or Benfica Tv) the Spanish Leagues, Italian , German, English inc 3 o clock Ko and the French League.
If you want to go a different route get a paid IPTV service that specialises in Sport , I pay £50 a year and can watch games in all these leagues and more in HD .

I was thinking about getting FuboTV and a VPN, but I might wait to see whether this ends up being cheaper/better.

Is everyone aware that ITV4 have a match a week until the end of the season? I think every one so far has had one of the big two in it, but in an hour's time they're showing Rayo Vallecano-Valencia.

Atletico-Celta was a bit shit, I thought. That said, I had been spoilt with the previous few games they showed.

Do we know if ITV get a choice of which matches they show? They seem to have a lot of Real and Barca games, which, whilst understandable from a commercial standpoint, is slightly less interesting than the other teams, including even Atletico.

A quick heads up that ITV4 seem to have kept some of the live coverage which they got halfway through last season. Tomorrow is Barca-Betis.

I haven't followed the whole saga. I sense that they can't shift him for a price they'd want, and he'd be too demanding of wages for anyone bar Barca, PSG and the usual English suspects. Plus he's no spring chicken, so he has little sell-on value.
