i'm unconvinced you can get 4 people to submit mixes on that kind of timescale tbh. remember how many extensions there were on the soundclash thread? have a bash at it though...

they have to be up by a set date, with a month's notice. if they miss it, they get disqualified and it's just 3 nominees.

or we could make it more than 4 per month?

theres also alot of dj's here that new post on the mixes thread that im sure we could badger into doing stuff.. it doesnt have to be about dj skills at all.

I would really like to get something regular going.

maybe just a monthly soundclash like we had before then? Keep it simple.


We could loosely theme it (like, "cars" or "weather" or something, like Bob Dylan's themetime radio hour) but then there'd be arguments about whether a particular mix stuck to the time. And it'd be loaded against dance tracks without lyrics ("well, i thought this one just SOUNDED quite autumnal" )

A podcast would be just as easy to do yknow. Just sign up for podomatic, add your details and let it generate an RSS feed for you.

Sure its a logistical nightmare, but it could be worse - believe me!

one a month is fine if its gonna be something someone has put alot of effort into. would prefer that than something quickly bashed out cos of a bit of a rush to get it done.

personally i think the soundclash thing should be seperate.. if someone asked someone to do a mix and they had ages to do it with no pressure. if i enter the soundclash its gonna be a quick mix of pure bangers and silly sirens, showing off my dubs and like... if i submit a podcast of a certain theme or whatever it would be a different kettle of fish i reckon
