Far Right flee anti-mosque rally in Germany

Okey dokey then. Lets say a group of people where objecting to a Muslim School being built. Would you then all happily demonstrate again the group opposing the building of the School?

There are PLENTY of instances of lefties getting involved in local debates over the building of faith schools. Not least cos its often a private finace issue, IE some religious group is buying off a local resource.

Opus Dei?

Is it true that Opus Dei are trying to buy into the Academies programme?

A weekend gathering in Cologne of the European far-right ended in farce when the main rally was cancelled as the organisers fled for their own safety.

You would think that the thick bastards would have read the history of 1930s and 40s Germany.
Still the really stupid never learn.

When I was younger, the far left were known and respected, for it's anti religious stance, and micky taking out of religion.

Now they are on the streets of Europe, defending a religion which thinks women should be dressed from head to toe in sacks.

Where are the jokes aimed at Islam, as was often, and still is to an extent, at the expense of Christanity, from left wing comedians?

"And that's why I'm in the BNP!"

Try the Labour party and your be more accurate. That is the response I expected, say something against Islam, and ''oh he/she must be in the BNP''.

Not everyone of the Islamic faith, attends mosques.
There are plenty of Muslim women who dress just the same as everyone else.
If your a Muslim woman living in a mainly Muslim area, covering up in public would be a difficult thing not to do.

Next time anyone sees a Muslim woman in traditional dress, just wonder if they would just not love to dress like other fellow British women can, if they had choice.
Many Muslim women would always wear Hijab, or cover up to differing extents.
Though give a thought to those who do not have a real choice. So next time you see a Muslim women dressed in the Hijab, wonder if they are dressed as such because they want to be, or they have no real choice.

The fact that there are elements of Islam that run contrary to left wing principles does not mean that people on the left should not stand up for Muslims during a time of scapegoating and borderline persecution.

The way the media treat Muslims these days is sickening, and standing by whilst nasty far right scum instigate provocative rallies is just not an option.

Before you were born the left stood with Jewish people in the East End against fascism.

If you are in the Labour party surely you should know that?
