It's maybe easier to have cheaper Burnley players and bench them than it is to have Fernandes or Martial and bench them though. So I might have cheaper Burnley/Villa players at the start and bench them and then bring in Utd and City big hitters after that.

Im in danger of creating a team with obvious weaknesses and no wiggle room due to a combination of wanting a whole bunch of premium players, and the transition likely required once week 1 is out of the way.
I might do it anyway, always got to find ways to have fun and take some risk after all.

Starting something new, with codes distributed by PM, does sadly seem to be the sensible option.

I'm confused. Why would you pick 4 players who arent playing in GW1? You 'll have a free transfer, so at the very least swap out one for someone who will play, and then use your transfer to bring them in for GW2

In case you didn't know, Abraham quite unlikely to start for Chelsea I would think.
Could be a genius pick if he gets a loan move to Villa though!
But they also don't play in GW1.

Are there claims he is off to Villa? Thought he did alright at times last year.

No idea. I'm baffled by transfers at the minute, been hearing Maitland-Miles has gone to Wolves all week and just seen him get man of the match in the community shield.

They had 3 last year, they've got 4 now, although will probably move Batshuayi on if they can.

Both he and Auba's contracts are allegedly still on the table; as everyone else is saying you'd think Arsenal will do almost anything to keep Auba, and they'd be wise to keep AMM too.

And he didnt give me many reasons to own him for a big chunk of last season. Was a great player to own at the right time though, which now seems like rather a long time ago, since it was in the first half of last season, not the last half.

I'm also thinking with such a short gap, form at the end of last season probably matters more than usual, so I'm tempted to punt on Che Adams.

That's really annoyed me because I've no idea how Spurs will play or whether they'll be defensively sound, but they do have good fixtures.

He has been in all versions of my team planning for week 1 so far and I doubt that will change. I had him for week 1 last season too but that was obviously a mistake and it took till project restart for him to start to shine. So last season he was gone from my team by week 2, hopefully that wont be the case this time.

Yeah, I'm looking quite hard at a few cheaper players who are having their second season in the Prem. If you do OK in your first season surely that can be built on!

Seems similar or still quite a bit less than last season. And I do recognise so many of the names from over the years, that although its annoying that some people who have nothing to do with this forum are there, I think it would be worse to scrap it and start again, especially as we are now only a week away from the first gameweek.
Speaking of which, whats happening with the H2H league?
