I think you've beaten me once out of about 5 leagues!

FClondoninflames is in :)

(relegation surely awaits)

i've never played fantasy league before.

Not a bad idea that...

<wonders if there is a way to have several urban leagues from which you can get promoted and relegated>

I'm in but I'll wait till closer to the start of the season ! I'll probably lose interest quite quickly like I normally do and I don't really pay that much attention the premier league so I expect I'll do shit !

was tried two (?) years ago. didnt really work I didnt think, especially when considering that half the participants didn't really participate after a few weeks.

We could set up a 'championship' that people who finished bottom half last year have to compete in? Then at the end of the year you get promoted, etc. The danger is that the winner of the championship is actually better than the winner of the prem.

Go to 'leagues' and enter the code I mentioned in the first post

yeah, i've done that, i've joined the league and now what do i do?

what i'm actually asking is for hints and tips on play.

like, do i just sit back and see how my team do? or is there anything participatory that goes on?

Basically you just sit back.. you get 1 free transfer a week, then they cost 4 points after that. You have to intervene if someone gets injured, plays crap, etc. It does add another element of fun to football, always a giggle.

Would any of you be interested in forming a league in one of the pay fantasy league games, like fantasyleague.com or youthemanager? I know from past experience that I quickly lose interest when playing the free just-for-fun games, but if there's actual real money to be possibly won (not that I ever have done!) then I maintain a lot more interest in it.

My fave game is the fantasyleague classic, a squad based game which has an excellent website - they have a range of prices but the cheapest is £10 for a team. If we can get about 10 of us together - preferably more - then that would give us a reasonable sized league. Come on, surely you can afford a tenner, can't ya?!
