Family meal ideas needed........

Sounds like they've already got a pretty good diet. When I was growing up, I'm sure most of my dinners were "something from a can, on toast"

-spaghetti on toast
-beans on toast
-creamed mushrooms on toast
-'chunky chicken' (aka tinned chicken supreme) on toast
-beans with sausages on toast
-Noodle Doodles on toast

you get the picture....

Also Findus Crispy Pancakes.

How do you deal with that???

When I was a kid, I didn't get a choice on what I liked or didn't like, I was just told to fucking eat it...

There is nothing wrong with their diet. This is for me because I am bored shitless cooking the same things all the time. :D

But I don't want to be wasting my time or money cooking fancy stuff that they won't eat. :(

The little one love fajitas and always has them if we go out so I might give them a go. The older two will probably turn their noses up though.

I would possibly do something like spaghetti on toast occasionally but the teenager doesn't like toast....................

Thanks for all the suggestions. :)

I'm too soft and like to see them eat their dinners. :o :D

you could explore into alternative cooking a bit.

ie lentil stews, bulgar wheat, barley, quinoa, cous cous, or anything with beans, spelt pasta.

not sure if kids love this kind of stuff but there are amazing recipe's out there.

:)

Further down I talk about how we used to waste evenings eating from the Racklette. :o

Basically, its just anything you like, chopped small, topped with cheese and melted under the Racklette. Then on top you put pots or prawns or bacon etc and fry it off. Then when the cheese is melted you put it ontop of your pots or jacket on your plate.

Salad, quiche, pizza, make a lovely accompaniment to Racklette.

ps sorry for the late reply. x

Fajitas are lush! Give them a try :) The older 2 can choose what to have in theirs, no?
