It seems kind of low class for the creators of one animated comedy series, go go public with their displeasure about another such show.

If the southpark dudes had been into the Family Guy style of humour, their series would be more like that. They obviously weren't.

Jesus, bit rich to talk about quality of writing when SP has been basically treading water for a good few seasons. Also they both sound like they take their 'art' far too seriously and miss the actual humour at work in FG beyond the 'gags'...

Just saw the episode where the dad tries to teach Meg how to be attractive to guys.

I've only been watching for a few weeks. It's on at a time that fits nicely between Chainsaw Kitten IIs feeds.

Not seen that one.

Love the show. You spend so much time as a news-aware non American wondering what the point of America is, then they go and do something like FG or land on the moon or sommat.

We are so super pissed off at 'Family Guy'. 'Family Guy' isn't even that funny of a show. A jihad on 'Family Guy', and the 'Family Guy' nation!

Seriously, 'Family Guy' isn't even that well written. The jokes are all interchangeable and usually irrelevant to the plot

I do still enjoy Family Guy... looking forward to the new season as well, been a long time since I've seen a new episode.

I always thought Family Guy was crap (well, in comparison to South Park and the Simpsons, I'll still watch it if it's on). There's just no thought gone into it, it's basically a sketch show and everyone knows that after the first series of a sketch show, when you've seen all the characters and all the one liners, it becomes shit. I think it was made on the back of the success South Park was enjoying for being a bit close to the bone, but they completely missed South Park's clever way of discussing the issues of the episode. When South Park has issues of racism, or other hot topics, we get the adults being stupid about it and the common sense comes through in the form of the kids - in Family Guy, it's purely just about being as extreme as they can and that's not clever in the slightest without the fall back (unless you think Bernard Manning is funny!!)

i don't hate family guy... i'll watch it and i'll laugh... but i don't really find it all that memorable... and most episodes i wouldn't really watch twice...

for example i downloaded the first 4 seasons but i deleated them after watching them... and i don't regret it


however american dad i just really don't find funny.... i watch all of the first sason and i hardly even sniggered

The first few time I watched Family Guy I thought it was hilarious, loved it, now I still watch it but it kind of comes and goes. Sometimes it's great and has moments of real laugh out loud humour plus some very clever sequences - Stewie dancing with Gene Kelly and Chris and the old guy neighbour in "Somewhere that's Green" were excellent - however sometimes it is just so disjointed it gets on my nerves.

Stewie, though, like Cartman is an icon!

Haven't watched South Park for a while - again I came and went a bit with it but have to say I do love - and have rewatched a few times - South Park: The Movie.

The Simpsons has gone down a bit in the last seasons - too many cameos by famous people - but at its best it is brilliant

Never watched American Dad so can't comment

My favourite is Futurama - when I first saw it I didn't really get it but it just grew on me. Tbh honest being a bit of a sci-fi/trekkie geek probably helps but I love it and it is the only one I repeatedly watch. And Bender is a comedy God! Though I was rather disappointed with "Bender's Big Score". Nowhere near as good or funny as I was hoping

A million pieces? They just say over and over again that there are loads of off plot pop cuture asides.

Well dur, yes, that's family guy. It hardly needs to dull episodes to tell that story. I don't really see why they give a fuck, they are two very different shows.

But SP takes the piss out of itself in the same two episodes if you watch them. Very clever they are in that sort of department.
