Family Guy

it can be patchy and is probably past its best but when it is at its best it's made me laugh more than any other cartoon ever

Stewie's note when he left to go to Jolly Farm or whatever nearly made me choke

The first three series were consistantly brilliant.

Everything since it returned from being cancelled has been rather hit and miss.

When it is good, it is very very good.........etc.

I'd agree about the first three seasons, but I think that even since the return, it's more hit than miss.

aqua :(

give stewie a chance. :(

For the love of God, shake me! Shake me like a British nanny!

Stewie: What the hell do you think you're doing!?
Lois: Strapping you in, honey, so you don't get hurt.
Stewie: "So I don't get hurt?!" that's the best you can come up with, you dull-witted termagant?
Lois: I brought your Raffi tape!
Stewie: Play "Wheels on the Bus" and get the hell out of my sight.

I;m sure I'm going to get shot down in flames for this

but fuck me its shit isn't it :(
i never saw the appeal before enough to watch it, but that second episode that was on BBC3 last night was fucking hilarious. I haven't laughed so much at a tv show in ages.

Agreed. It was funny at first for its random jokes but whereas the Simpsons manages to come up with some sort of story, albeit often a bit cliched, FG can't be bothered. It's the cartoon equivalent of many American 'sitcoms' that consist only of unrelated jokes.
The Simpsons wallows in sentimentality too much for it's own good. It takes the edge off.

Not sure it's as brilliantly funny as it once was, but it's still capable of some utterly savage comedy. I love the constant cutaway jokes.

As well as Peter, supporting characters Quagmire, Cleveland, Herbert, Mayor West and the Evil Monkey are all particularly hilarious. Also, I ...er... do find Lois kind of sexy (-even though she once fucked Gene Simmons).

Stewie is definitely my least favourite character though.

didn't get it at first though think it is funny as f?.....bit like the simpsons in my initial dubiousness as to enjoying cartoons....some of it is hilarious:)

surely you jest....Seth McFarlane is a comedic genius

He's no genius. Family Guy is hardly the most original premise for a sit-com and American Dad proved that MacFarlane couldn't come up with any new ideas, so just did a re-hash of Family Guy. Hardly the mark of a genius.

More the fact that after the success of Family Guy on DVD - Fox just wanted more of the same.

family guy is like the shittest thing ever

No, the shittest thing ever is the incorrect use of the word 'like'.

Demonstrated quite well in the 2nd episode that was on last night.

I like Family Guy, not the greatest show ever but it can be really fucking funny. The episode when Peter decides he needs a Jew is probably my fave.

Also, I ...er... do find Lois kind of sexy

If I was forced to do a cartoon character it would be Lois :D

I love Family Guy, but American Dad just doesn't make me laugh at all.

All things going to sequence, the next Family Guy episode on BBC3 should be the one where Peter makes a universally-panned chick flick called Steel Vaginas...

It has its moments, but it's not that great.

American Dad is much, much worse though.
My thoughts exactly.
Some of FG is funny, but it's no South Park.
but American dad is just toss- it's just Family Guy reworked. Blech.

Love Family Guy and to a lesser extent American Dad (and I like it because it is just more of the same)

But I hate South Park. Just do not find the humour funny.
