Family Guy Fans: An Apology

dear Family Guy Fans

at various points over the last few years I may have poo-poohed the Family Guy a tad. Not dismissed it outright but reacted scornfully to the notion that it was fit to be even mentioned on the same page of Urban as The Simpsons.

However, due to Pie Eye's flatmate having pretty much every episode on DVD and having sat down to watch a few, I must confess how utterly, UTTERLY wrong I was. I've now seen every episode available on DVD (with the Stewie movie to come) and it is absolutely sublime.

So, apologies to all, and Stewie For President.

Always liked Family Guy though thought that Dub had some decent critisms of it in previous posts...

Good on him for giving it another chance and putting up this thread as a consequence, Dub has gone up in my estimation

They all see the light in the end. Oh yeah don't bother with the movie it's really shit but the series is utter class!

I only watched a couple of episodes recently and it completely cracked me up. Kyser and I regularly make each other laugh by mimicking the fish laughing hysterically after telling the alien to try to walk through a wall and saying:
"It's times like these, I wish I had a wife. And I would turn to her and say, stop eating so much bread, you pig, you're a disgrace!"

Ok - so it's not funny in print... :)

*ahem...baby, that's American Dad, but it's done by the same scripting and animation crew so easy mistake to make...*

:o

But I thought.....

Now it makes sense - I saw the American Dad promo the other day and thought, oh, the Family Guy dad has his own show too... wonder if it's funny.

:o

*slinks off remembering why non-TV people shouldn't participate in these sorts of discussions*

yep its her nose , just discovering family guy and loving it and just discovered american dad this week and its class :D

'It's her triangluar nose'

Oh yeah, that's right. It's all about the nose...

Not about her antics with Meg @ Spring Break and her penchant for tying her shirt up, or despite having sired 3 kids her near perfect figure...

I would have been surprised if you hadn't liked Family Guy. It truely is the best cartoon around at the moment. Utter class. I have them all on my harddrive :)

You are in for a treat when you see the movie!

(and doesn't everyone fancy Lois? she's a really bad and dirty girl at heart!)

dunno, I've kind of gone the opposite way, used to love it in the early days but now having second thoughts.

It does contain one of my favourite gags ever:

Brian walks into the garage where Peter is listening to the police band radio.

Radio: 10-4, 10-4, armed robbery in progress, all units, all units
Brian: Is it me, or is rap music getting lazier?

I must have missed you doing that as I would have set you straight. ;)

It's brilliant and IMHO better than the Simpsons.

I've only ever seen a few early episodes and absolutly loathed it, but maybe they have gotten better writers in since then. I still think it's incredibly ugly to look at and not in a a clever way like Beavis & Butthead or King of the Hill, just in a "these people really can't draw" sort of way.

Does this mean you are likely to reconsider your postion relating to Enya and Trance as well?
