yep, it had added fancheck to my apps without me ever using it.

i've just checked and it had done the same for me

i don't have any weird apps but it was being strange yesterday

plus see when they are on your page...
go to the top left of the app post... theres options... either you can block the person entirely or just block the application notifications...

feckin makes it so much easier

I''ve just noticed a thing........when you go into your applications there is a drop down, mine defaults to "recently used"

What're you basing that on?

It's not like a 3rd party app causing problems for the entire userbase of a website is unheard of. I've not used fancheck, but I've seen someone else doing, and it looks fucking clunky.

No, but considering the sandbox model facebook uses for its applications its extremely unlikely/impossible.

Perhaps you can find whatever blog originally reported that Facebook was having API problems with an app (before people misunderstood and started wittering on about virii) and tell them. I bet they'll be really pleased...

i removed fancheck simply by editing my apps. No 3rd party websites. And the problem with outdated status updates stopped.

My facebook problems were exactly the same, and they stopped last night too. I didn't have fancheck at all.

I didn't have FanCheck but still had a lot of problems; I did click on it to see pictures before I knew there was a problem. E-mails not being sent and internet pages taking a long time to load or not loading at all. Had to run a virus check and found three really old trojans. Finally managed to log into FB properly via my son's platform and was able to delete two games from my applications. Now all is fine again.

To the people who also had problems: are you on Mac or PC? We are on Mac.
