FA Trophy Sat 10 Dec - Dulwich Hamlet 2 -2 Royston

All successful teams at each tier of non league has a striker to target and will mock in 20 'boring' goals. We can't score 25m beauties all the time

By the way I'm happy to rock up and watch and just be happy if we get a result. But before we know it Hereford will come rampaging past us and it's not beyond our reach to genuinely push for promo. Our avg crowd must be around 1k. 6x most of the league, so I'd expect more with that budget.

Beer was nice and bar not too busy due to lowish turnout. Everyone Xmas shopping probably. I had a nice crayfish sandwich before the game. Lovely

Yep league below I beleve there in the southern evostic league central with farnborough which is level with winchester city promotion would lead them to same league as chesham.

Don't base everything on crowds, Royston may be one step on the ladder below us but they are well financed after new money was invested a few years ago. There are several clubs riding high in the National League like Boredom Wood where the big crowds rarely if ever reach four figures but the investment is much higher than at Dulwich. You can clearly see this by looking at that Royston squad which has bags of experience at Step 3 level and higher. Case in point striker John Frendo, who is one of the most prolific Goalscorers in Non League and almost certainly commands a good reward for those services. Don't be surprised if they are challenging for a place on National League South next season.

To echo what Griff said, at least two clubs in our league have wage budgets over twice the size of ours. We are the only club in the league that does not have some level of private investment that supplements the matchday income

Been laid up with a cold but am looking forward to full DHFC TV coverage of the final 10 minutes.

So we have midfielders playing upfront now? That chap from qpr at Staines would be great to have. Would love to see somebody mopping up the chances in and around the 6 yard area. I know anyone who is any good gets mopped up by league teams, but this is our 6 mth now to get some quality in and push for promo.

Amazing. We're the top scorers in our division, have scored 65 goals in all competitions, have scored in every game bar two this season, yet apparently we still need a goal scorer.

Are you the guy that was stood near the 12th Man table shouting "Rose Out" when we went 2-0 down yesterday by any chance?

No wonder he was so angry in those final few minutes!

Great comeback, what a game.

Will be remembered for the 30 man mass argy bargy, but plenty of other talking points.

- We blazed over the bar several times when a cool head would have meant a goal.

- Crowd were not impressed with the time-wasting from Royston in second half, feigning injuries etc

- the challenge on Kargbo which led to the melee was bad - clear revenge challenge , straight red. Ref waived play on but indicated he had seen it, then didn't go back.

- Couldn't see what sparked the fight but it was in front of Dulwich bench so suggests they came across. But one Twitter person reckons a fan jumped the fence and started it?

- Dumaka not in squad, not sure why.

Royston on Tuesday looks ok for trains, could be an interesting trip.
Classic cup tie and a really good contest. With DD missing I was disappointed we didn't replace him with Carr; I felt our attack lacked a focal point despite a lot of nice approach work.

I felt we blew our chance of winning with the tactical adjustments at half time. OK, Chambers had to go off, Taylor on as a straight replacement was one option, but we looked vulnerable against Not Police when he deputised for Chambers. It was a good opportunity to get Carr on at half time, but Ming & Green had been a real threat as overlapping wing-backs, and with them dropping back into a flat back four that threat subsided for the next twenty minutes. Even so we could have swapped Clunis & Karagiannis to their 'natural sides, but persisted with each of tehm on his 'wrong' side cunning inside, so we had no width against a solid defence.

I know Clunis scored a cracking goal coming inside from the left, but I still feel he's just as much of a goalscoring threat drifting inside from the right, where he can also go wide and deliver crosses from out wide, as we saw at Folkestone last weekend. Getting that goal back as soon as we'd gone two down gave both the crowd and our team a lift, while Royston looked a bit more wary and began dropping deeper, which always suits us more than opponents defending high up the field and pressing us in the middle third.

I thought the referee handled the game really well until the incident with Kargbo getting clattered. I think it was one of those that was so late he didn't see it, although must have guessed what happened - a late tackle from behind with no chance of winning the ball. There was a legitimate advantage to be played and the move ended with their keeper holding a shot, but he should have gone back and booked their man as soon as the keeper put the ball out of play. I don't understand why it took seven minutes to sort all that our when we were already in stoppage time with around five minutes of that to be played. The fourth official must have been right on top of the melee and well placed to sort that out. I'm guessing Tomlin must have been the first Hamlet player to have a go at their captain, who committed the foul ans was booked, before after further discussion the red card was shown to Tomlin. How it then took several more minutes to decide that the only bloke on the field wearing a green shirt had committed violent conduct seven minutes earlier is just beyond me. He didn't appear to do anymore than anyone else, though he should have been anywhere near the incident when he was fifty yards away when it kicked off. But then again, our keeper also got involved!

There was an amusing pantomime element to the whole thing, but it just went on for too long, and in the end I felt it spoiled the climax to the game and interrupted our momentum when we looked like we might snatch the win.

Sorry, would love to see us in the next round. Think it's a great cup, and been to Wembley new and old over the yes to watch the final. I know we won't get far. Bring on tues pm!

Royston played with a lot of confidence and skill at times in the first half, I thought they actually played worse in the second half, spilling out into some disagreements between Royston players at one point.

Thought we were denied a stonewall penalty in the second half,

Then again we should have gone in at half time 2-0 up - really poor close range misses,

Like other commentators have stated, think the hand bags incident, disrupted our momentum and the Referee didn't seem to add on all the wasted time Royston undertook towards the end.

I do hope we can progress to the next round, as we actually deserved to win on Saturday.

They were a league below us I believe and I know they're doing well. The size/shape of most of they're team would make me think we should have put them to bed.

Not convinced about that. They were a big team but their workrate was excellent and they were clearly well organised and knew what they were doing. I also thought their small, quick number 11 gave our defence a lot of problems and I wouldn't mind at all seeing him in a Hamlet shirt.

One thing that was also really noticeable about them, sadly, was the amount of play-acting and time-wasting - that really stood out as I find it's not something you often see at our level. I didn't see the tackle that lead to the battle at the end but it's no surprise tempers were running high by that point. And did the ref really need to take that long to sort it out? All a bit farcical really.

All said and done I think we'll need to do bloody well to go to their ground and get a win on Tuesday night. They're tough opponents and will do whatever they need to to go through to the next round.
