Super Richard Walker!

Last I heard, Basingstoke were beating Aldershot, which means they'll be coming to Bloomers in Jan. *goes to check*

Ah, Seems last I heard was ages ago - Aldershot are 3-1 up now.

der der der der Richard Walker!

Wemberlee, Wemberlee, we're the famous Bristol Rovers and we're going to Wemberlee!

Or at least home to Hereford in the third round

I love the FA Cup :D

Red Blue Army!
Red Blue Army!

There will be chaos on the streets of Blackpool come the New Year. Not too far away from European competition next season now either :D

I am, as usual, utterly convinced we are going to actually win it. Not in a 'wouldn't it be funny' kind of way, but in a - 'if we get the right draw and pull of a shock or two, we will actually win it' kind of way.

First person to say 'has the magic of the cup gone away' gets shot at dawn.

well quite

we managed to reach the last 16 a few years back playing nobody and we only went out to Barnsley then (took 4,000 up there that day - proper magic cup away day with knackered out old buses from all over the West Country being pressed into service for one last glorious trip belching exhaust fumes all the way up to Yorkshire :D ).

Millwall managed the final easily enough the other year. All the big clubs have drawn each other in the third round...

fuck it, it's Blackpool against Rovers in the final

Apparently Bury fielded an ineligible player in their win over Chester in the second round and may be thrown out of the Cup. Hearing is on Wednesday.

Bury were drawn against Ipswich in the third round

Not that anyone seems to have noticed but Bury have been thrown out of the Cup and Ipswich will now travel to Chester instead

Bury plan to appeal

Stephen Turnbull, on loan from Hartlepool United. Bury failed to secure permission from Pools to play him in the FA Cup

I've always wonderdered why they call themselves 'pools' instead of 'pool'

Am I making it up or did Turnbull play for Leeds as a wee kid?

I am making it up... I checked soccerbase.

They used to be called Hartlepools United - 'cos they represent the towns of Hartlepool and West Hartlepool

Changed it in the 60s I think

I wouldn't call it harsh, I would call the Leeds punishment lenient though.

If there are players in the team who aren't allowed to play then you should forfeit the match (though Leeds lost anyway - maybe forfeit the match 3-0 then)

I guess I am bitter as a Swindon Town fan whose team was relegated 2 divisions due to financial irregularities. Anyway, yeah, the Leeds punishment was certainly lenient.
