FA Cup round one thread

Talking of Wycombe, check out the opening goalscorer for Bishop's Stortford...

Who was that then . I won't gloat because it would just be wrong . I'm looking forward to beating Chralton :D

I was there

Our equaliser to bring us to 1-1 (by our substitute in a no. 3 shirt, Gavin Johnson, a 20 yard angled free kick) was a cracker, but our concentration turned off straight after, Wycombe made it 2-1 within 45 seconds :(

We gave Wycombe quite a game, not onesided at all, and we were a lot better in the second half -- on the balance of play overall APART from conceding the soft winner, we deserved the draw and replay.

We lack a reliable striker. Yemi is pacey, skilful, but lacks support ; Basham is older, slower, misplaced passes, wild off target shots ... well off form at the moment.

Our left back Rufus Brevett, though 36 and a tad slow, consistently shows his skill and footballing brain and experience (he's ex-Charlton).

Luckily for us, the better striker on the pitch, Mooney, didn't do too much either, and was substituted.

Wycombe in general were pacier (Mooney apart, they have few old players), more accurate in the pass, better at beating their opponent -- they are well above us in the hierarchy after all -- but their finishing was none too good -- my grandfather, now dead, could have scored that second goal, they were given so much space by us  :o

So, yes, Oxford's first defeat of the season.

see I knew I shouldn't be overconfident and I'm glad we won . Oxford made a gam,e of it and at least it was a sort of local derby to go out on as well !

I would've pissed myself if they'd completed that comeback.

Can we have the gas at home please for an easy passage to round 3 and the chance to rest a few players?

"Concentrating on the Conference" now :o :D :(

To be fair to Wycombe, their first goal (can't remember scorer just now) was pretty classy -- wrongfooted our usually excellent goalkeeper, Billy Turley, which in the Conference at least, hasn't been happening too often.

Dind't your lot scrape through 1-0 or something . I wouldn't be too smug if I were you !

Having seen the highlights, what a bunch of cunts they are at Barrow.

Punching someone in the face off the ball, chucking coins at our goalie. Brave lads. Wankers.

You're only supposed to gloat if we lose. Doesn't work when we win by the same margin your lot did against a team a comparable distance below you.

Did you see the size of Beadle yesterday by the way? What a fat bastard.
