being a red, in more ways than one, I'm looking forward to this weekend, but really pisses my off more than anything about Liverpool Foootball Club (probs the only thing in fairness, well there is that Mcdonalds in the Kop) is the fucking songs they have to bring out!!
For fucks sake they're always either shite covers of brilliant songs (this year its Ring of Fire by Jonny Cash) or they just pull some good for saken washed up friggin indie band from 1996 to do a newbie (the blokes singing this year are the same blokes that did it for the 1996 final).
I mean in terms of on the one Hand Liverpool pides itself on pure football and thats why theres no prematch or half time entertainemnt at Anfield, and at the same time they bring out tripe like this, I know its for charity but just put blokes on the boor with buckets, then you get the Hammers involved as well.

why not just watch the football?

I will mate, you'll be the one "Blowing Bubbles"!

I'll be in Cardiff tomorrow, unfortunately I'll be stuck in a boozer watchign it while my missus and mates go to the game.

The problem with that is there'd be 24,000 scousers rattling buckets outside the turnstiles!!!

No offence, la.

aah! gotcha.

try sneaking through the gates when nobody's looking.

when I had a season ticket at upton park I forgot to bring it to a game. went up to one of the guards and said I had left it at home. gave him a tenner and he let me in the turnstiles. same old west ham! :D

though I would think cardiff may be a bit more secure....

as a supporter of a london club (if not THE london club ;) ) i naturally will be wanting to see any other london club fail

that, coupled with the rest of my household being reds (the daughter 's hirt is out ready to be worn   ) it makes life easier

I *heart* it! Don't you know why they have chosed Ring of Fire ;)

FACT: The Anfield Rap is the best football record evar!

Red men all the way for me, innit.

I'm going to the match (f**king  :D ), I was getting butterflies a few days ago so I'll be in bits tomorrow, It's a cup final so everything else goes out the window but we have the big match experience and some top players so we have to be favourites for it.

I'm giving up a lifetime of villainy to cheer on the hammers. I love them. My tattoo will be done by tomorrow.
Knew it all along. :(

Didn't Everton beat Man utd 1-0 in the final , I remember winning money on a sweapstake with that because I refused to pick and Utd players since I was insisting Everton would win it 1-0

They did and it was one of the rare occasions I cheered on Everton.:o

for the punters amongst you , most bookies giving Hammers 9/2 - 5-1 to win over 90 mins , I know we are underdogs but FFs 5-1 , looks good odds to me.
Harewood at 9`s to score first looks ok .too

yep, all true. but we have played at cardiff for the last two years, so we won't be overawed. plus there's no pressure on us, people are expecting us to lose. of course you are favourites, but I reckon we have a chance.

that's good odds. I thought 3-1 was about right, which is what it was earlier this week. that might be worth a little flutter.

Mind you, if they win and do an open top bus ride through West Ham on Sunday, I'm buggered cos I'll be at Upton Park to watch my team in the FA Trophy final and there's no tubes :(

No, they've already said that if West Ham win, the parade will be on Monday to avoid clashing with the Trophy final.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the match. I'm not expecting us to win, just bloody happy we're there considering the state we were in just over a year ago, it really is bloody remarkable. We've played some nice football this season and I know we won't be like the Newcastle sides in 98/99 who just turned up to the final and bottled it. I know we will give a good account whatever happens.

I'm watching it at a Belgian-themed bar in town (which interestingly is run by the Cousin of Wilmots, who used to play for Belgium) with another Hammer I know, a couple of his mates and a different hammer who is flying all the way from VIETNAM to Wuhan just to watch it with us! Nutter!

I can't wait...

Don't think I can quite stomach another cliche filled rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'

no. before the west ham - bolton cup game they must have played bubbles about ten times. got quite wearing after a while, in a "new sky generation" type way.

indeed. it'll be a party whatever. we're in europe next year no matter what happens.

you know I was thinking about this season the other day. it's been brilliant hasn't it? FA Cup final, beating arsenal at highbury and drawing at upton park. getting a last minute equaliser against spurs, beating them at our place to knock em out of the champs league places. even getting points at everton, it's been fucking brilliant and to think we scraped into the playoffs last season and everybody was predicting a quick return, makes it even better. I feel as hopeful as I did just before we sold rio, frank et al.

Just got to avoid "doing an ipswich" next season. ;)

Yes, it's been superb. So much better than I expected. I mean 9th is a decent finish, usually when we were in the Prem before we'd finish around there (and a bit higher on a couple of occasions) whilst getting knocked out of the cup by Grimsby or someone, so really it's been good even compared to previous times in the Premiership. And as you say, it's been really satisfying winning at bogey grounds like Highbury and Goodison. Not to mention 4 points of those smug Spuds who said they'd send us down on the last day - the ultimate example of peoples' words coming back to, quite literally, bite them on the bum :D

I'll be there with my orange tabbard glued to the action whilst appearing to be making sure people sit in their right seats and don't spit at each other.

I would hope to be jumping around in glee with the Liverpool fans at 4.50pm but still have this nagging feeling that it's the Hammers' year.

nah. not a season ticket holder so couldn't get a ticket, tried a few other methods but nothing came off. couldn't afford to pay stupid money for one either. it'll be the bbc for me.

Ah unlucky mate.

I'll find out tonight whether I'll be going to Wales tomorrow.
