some big names in this round and I'm not talking about the marvellously titled (and adopted by Urban75) Jarrow Roofing Boldon CA. Bradford (Park Avenue) make a trip to Osset whilst FC United of Manchester's fans will make their acquaintance with the opposite end of the competition from the one they're used to. The world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC, are also involved with a tricky looking away tie against Cammell Laird.
Who else shall we big up? The brave boys of the Metropolitan Police are at home to Croydon Athletic whilst the FA Cup comes to Urban75 territory as Dulwich Hamlet play host to Three Bridges.
Our heroes from Jarrow will be continuing their crusade for the cup (see what I did there) with a home game against the equally brilliantly named Norton & Stockton Ancients. In my part of the world, the big one looks like Odd Down making the short trip from Bath to Welton Rovers whilst Welton's fierce local rivals Paulton play host to Nigel Martyn's old muckers St Blazey. My old local side Hallen will also be making the trip to north east Somerset as they take on Shepton Mallet.
There's such a wealth of intrigue here it's hard to cover it all. Just why are Pilkington XXX called that, or is it just some sort of crazy misprint? Just what sort of crowd can we expect for Oxhey Jets v Burnham Ramblers? Are Stocksbridge Park Steels really as hard as they like to make themselves out to be? And is it true that Billingham Synthonia's name is derived from the words 'synthetic ammonia' a product of the nearby ICI factory?
Your thoughts please
ETA: I also spy Marlow, the only club to have entered the first competition and to still be gamely tilting at the trophy today, away to Berkshire rivals WIndsor & Eton.
