:p

My favourite year for the Cup was 2008. Quarter finalists that season were: Portsmouth, Cardiff, Barnsley, West Brom, Middlesbrough, Manchester United, Chelsea and the Rovers. Semi finalists were WBA, Pompey, Cardiff and Barnsley.

Our home quarter final against the Baggies was the last to kick off so by the time we started, Man United and Chelsea had both departed and we had the distinctly odd feeling that our team actually winning the Cup wasn't completely out of the question...

*draws veil over full time score that day*

I really enjoyed the Brighton-Arsenal game, but it was almost spoilt by Robbie Savage's inane commentary. Stop shouting, you prick, not everything is either brilliant or terrible. Who decided, at either the Beeb or BT, that it was a good idea to employ him?

Bradford got Reading at home, surely that won't be their stumbling block, but who knows? Brum derby too so some decent ties.

Preston made Man Utd look quite ordinary for most of last night.

I had some fun on Sunday watching the Villa-Leicester game. I was not going to put up with Motty and Savage doing the commentary so I went to the red button thinking I'd get the 5Live audio. Instead I got two Blue Peter presenters doing a challenge of commentating on the match and, despite their relative lack of knowledge, they were a lot better to listen to.

Hey! Let's run on the pitch with a few minutes to go when our team are winning 2-0!

Nice work Villa fans

I didn't see the end of the match but the grauniad minute by minute merely has fans running on to 'celebrate the win', whereas they also have a 'seats raining down on the pitch, violence mars the game' type piece.

West Brom seemed to drop after shooting out the blocks in the first half. Delph's goal was especially well taken. Why on earth Yacob got sent off is anyone's guess, and I reckon Grealish must've got a second for being gobby to the ref.

The Bradford-Reading game was very limp, I thought. Let's hope Liverpool and Blackburn can step things up tomorrow.

Well Blackburn have given by far the best performance of the six teams so far. Liverpool were really unimaginative.
