F1 2009

The new McLaren looks the nuts...the ferrari has to be changed as the launch car doesn't comply with regulations (minor points around the exhaust). The Williams looks pretty good.

Toyota pretty average as usual. The Renault is an abomination...loks like somespilt mustard and ketchup all over it.

Actually not that bad....I feared it would lose character but moving the pits to the straight makes sense.

Yeah, it's still the same track, just with an extra loop in the middle. I'll still be amazed if it's finished in time though :hmm: :D

To avoid the car park access misery of Silverstone, it is planned that the vast majority of spectators will arrive at the circuit using public transport, from a series of park-and-ride facilities in the surrounding area.

I assume this will be from around East Midlandss airport...

Yeah not gonna happen...they wanted to ask the airport to close over the weekend. To which the airport said "car parks are your problem, not ours" :D

I remembering reading somewhere that each year at Silverstone it is the largest mobilisation of private helicopters in the world and the largest mobilisation of any type of helicopters since the Vietnam War.

So why Bernie whinges I've no idea, he needs to get his wallet out and fly there in a chopper - not in a car like the poor paying mugs he rips off.

I read a while back on one of the F1 websites that since Williams are not owned by a car maker they're less vulnerable than other teams. Sure, the sponsorship is going to be harder to come by but they've got less to lose than other teams in the long term.

The USA team that might be on the grid next year could be interesting. Based in North Carolina which is home for most of the NASCAR teams they've got a load of existing infrastructure (wind tunnels / engine plants / workers)

Interesting times in F1.

cool, i'm pleased with this outcome. It would be a shame to see Jenson without a drive. He has so much untapped potential. However if they can tap into it or have a decent car after a winter like that then I will be pleasantly surprised.

Gentlemen... start your engines... the beeb has updated it's F1 page - all dark and moody now.
