F1 2008

Gonna be one of those rare sports stars with huge cross over appeal, only Tiger Woods and prob Beckham have the same type appeal, last years F1 champ could walk down most streets without anyone giving him a second glance, but Hamilton is going to one of the most famous people on the planet.Even a great like Schumacker wouldn't be able to match his appeal.

2. Work out what tax you should have paid if you were UK based and donate that to UK focused charities?

Commie ;)

Fair play to the lad for winning yesterday. Possibly the most ironic nominee for 'Personality' of the year since Beckham tho.

Doubt it, if he wasn't British I doubt there'd be so many people here talking about him.

Bit late coming to the party - congrats to Lewis I'm delighted that McLaren have finally done it. Can't stand Ferrari. Just a shame Heikki isn't really up to it at the moment - but it makes Lewis's win all the better as he did it without much support - maybe next year Heikki will improve - but still can't help thinking they'd have been better off looking elsewhere - but then there probably isn't much talent that isn't already spoken for.

Alonso/Hamilton would still be the dream ticket - never going to happen though. Alonso must surely still be waiting for the Ferrari seat - but it might never come and Renault were looking well pokey toward the end of the season.
Hamilton/Button - I still think Button has it - but his career is being pissed up the side of the wall at Honda.

McLaren, Renault and BMW pushing Ferrari into midfield would be great for 2009.

That's quite a statement-a to make-a.

How long could his career last, 10 years+? What if McLaren lose the magic touch, what if Whitmarsh and Dennis elope? WHAT IF?

Not really, listen carefully he says "he wants to end his career at McLaren"

I'm sure Henry wanted to end his career at Arsenal - but hey money talks and all that - I'm sure if McLaren have a few years in the midfield and Ferrari come calling - he'll take the plunge like Schumacher did.
