Can someone please explain this 'fuel credit' bollocks to me?

Final section of qualifying, you can get 2.5 kilos or so of fuel for any lap you do provided it is within 110% of the pole position time.

Malaysia was ok. Bahrain was better. Disappointed the rain didn't come through in Malaysia. Season is looking competitive with Renault currently holding onto a slight edge?

Yep Malaysia was a tad dull...Klein made a howler, JPM was very average, Button once again showed why he won't be world champion. Only highlight was Massa's mature drive to 5th and Nico's qualification lap.

I thought it was a really boring race. I almost fell asleep.

However, I am developing a bit of a crush on Nico Rosberg.

God damn it! I set the alarm for 4 this morning but I was just to knackered to keep my eyes open, and typically it seems like it was a cracker of a race!

Anyone awake for this?

I was, didn't go to bed til 7. Only just got up.

Good race, lots of incidents.

Ide managed to finish the race - his first finish, thought he would slam it into the wall as a few others did. He was woeful in qualifying.

I almost felt sorry for jenson on the last lap but I have a feeling he's becoming the new johnny herbert :D

I've decided that from now on I support the safety car - its more likely to finish a race than the rest of them.

Unless Taku gets the gig of driving it! ;)

First re-start I was cursing Button, but by the time of the third re-start and the same thing happening, it was pretty clear the BAR was shite. I thought Sato had a good race - consistent lap times in a pretty poor car.

Monotoya's post-crash interview was funny.

Renault look like they've got it in the bag - speed, consistency, reliability.

What on earth is happening with qualifying this week

There have been so many more red flags and safety cars this year than there have been in recent years.

good little battle with michael and fernando at the end there. I think it'll be like that for the race aswell, i'll say that alonso is light on fuel though. McClaren were surprisingly off the pace, but they always seem to be a bit poor at quali and go much better in the race, will probably struggle for a podium though.

Looks like Alonso and Schumacher will scarper away from the pack and avoid the inevitable first corner carnage with Massa holding up the rest of the grid.

A boring race apart from Fisi charging through the field to take out Villeneuve.

I know it's too early to say but it looks as if Ferrari (or at least Schu) are going to be contenders this year. Which should make for excellent watching.

This season could yet be the most open one in ages. :)

2003 was pretty open to be fair...

I think Alonso is about 3 or 4 laps lighter on fuel than Schumacher. And Massa won't hold the rest of the field... the Hondas will do that quite nicely all on their own...

:p

Well, there are 120,000 people at the circuit watching bloody cars going in bloody circles with millions watching it live...

Ive yet to see a track which is circular either. True, there are many which are oval shaped, yet formula one does not tread those grounds. Didn't Alonso look hacked off afterwards? Cheer up mate, you're still leading the bloody championship by a fair bit. :)

Indeed... at this rate, it'll be another 7 races before Alonso loses his lead...

He was looking 'down' because he was squarely beaten by the Ferrari. Last time round in Imola, he had a fast car that should have done the business but he blundered. This time, there was nothing he could do while Schumacher did those critical fastest laps over and over...
