Eyeliner and eye pencils

I use liquid, the key is to have loads of practise and use a good liner.

Urban Decay used to do a good one but I'm not sure if they still do, the latest one I got is a Bourjois clubbing one in ultra black. It doesn't flake off unlike some of the less good ones which are too watery and don't last long.

Oh and some pencil liners have quite good staying power. There's a bourjois liner stylo or something which has stayed on through copious weeping, itching etc.

Theres a good chunky eyeliner set free with Shout this week, at the age of 38, I'm not a regular reader! Anyway, it's two double ended pencils and a sharpener. Wearing it now. Suprisingly good quality and looks just like the Barry M liner I've already got, same size pencil, shape, everything. Good for smudgy smokey eye look - I just smear it a bit with my fingers once I've put it on, then reapply an hour or two later for more depth of colour.

if you want that smudgy look then hard candy techno silver grey pencil is great, chuck it on under your bottom eyelashes and a bit at the outer corner, add a bit of black on the corners too and then cake on the mascara

I love this thread :D

I can't manage eyeliner - you need to be able to see to use eyeliner - but I have taken to using a little grey pencil through my lower lashes (which I can do by touch!), sort of a la Strumpet, and I have to say I look gorgeous. My eyes are visible behind the specs - who'd a thort it!

I bought a couple of ELF eyeliner pencils the other day and they are really smudgy - the smudgiest I've ever tried!

I'm sticking with using eye shadow as a liner for the time being.

Has anyone used this? http://www.lookfantastic.com/beauty...ban-decay-eye-shadow-transforming-potion.html

It looks fab. I always end up licking (I know, I know!) my eye shadow applicator to make it more liquidy - but this might be a better (and more hygienic) option. Don't want to spend a tenner on it unless I know it's good though!

Yes! My gosh. I totally forgot. :o Shall I give it a whirl and let you know if it works...

Aces! I'm getting fed up of spitting on my eyeshadow :D
I'll do it now. Any particular brand of eyeshadow? just to give you a proper review... :D

I must've bought it in the run up to christmas in a multibuy deal and totally forgotten. I love new toys, especially when it feels like they're free.

:D Hmmm, I use Lily Lolo loose shadow, an FCUK pressed one and some generic pressed one that came in one of those sets with about 12 different shades. :D

I like.

I don't have your specifics so I tried with a urban decay smog (from a compact) and that worked nicely. So then I tried a barry m pressed powder and that also worked.

I'm especially liking the shape I managed under my eye with the chunky end.

Can give it a go with a loose powder as well if you like.

whats the best way to get eyeliner and shado to stay put? i get all sweaty and it smudges or wears off after an hour or so

This is jolly good news

Now you need to leave it on all night to see what its staying power is like :p Taking one for the team ;)

Thank you!

I used to wear blue glittery lipstick on my eyelids as it was the only thing that stayed on. :o Well, when clubbing anyway. I find wearing something underneath the shadow and eyeliner helps. Just foundation or concealer tho I hear you can get 'primers'. Build the eyeshadow up in layers. Blending it seems to take off the extra that hasn't 'stuck' anyway so that helps. Um. I use bourjois liner stylo for the pencil and it says it's long lasting which I reckon is true. So, long lasting products?

Basically, layer stuff on and smudge it yourself. That should do the trick.

I wasn't planning on taking it off. :o Will report back tomorrow. :D
(you're welcome!)

Not so great. Bit of a weepy-rubby-eyes-fest tho' so not really a fair representation. Still had a very thin line right next to my upper lashes. I'm going to get up in a mo' so I'll try again.

Ah, I wouldn't expect much to last through weepy rubby eyes to be fair. It sounds good though, and just what I'm looking for. I got a couple of new Lily Lolo shadows yesterday, a lovely sparkly blue one and a paler sparkly green one. I want to try it with that :)

I need to order some conditioner from lookfantastic so I might as well order that too :)

(hope you're still not feeling weepy though!)

Like the OP and many others, I haven't the first clue about how to put make-up on properly. So I'm going for a make-up lesson at Benefit tomorrow
