Eyeliner and eye pencils

I had assumed eye liner was to define shape of eyes as foamy described... in which case I am not too sure what to do with an eye pencil!!!

What colour is the eye pencil? does it have a brush type thingy on the lid? is it a shade of black/brown? if it is maybe you could define the brows a little. do you have tweezers and curlers?
Oh let me at you. lol x

just what I was going to ask... but I was a bit embarassed!

If she does it, then so can you ;)

I have 2: one black and one brown. Bursh type thing

I also have a brown eye liner

I want to do something more dramatic with my eyes than the usual eye shadow +mascara but don't know how and some women do their eye make up really well and I'm jealous

so equipment assembled.... not sure what to do next except try out everything people have posted on here

tweezers - yes. curlers - no but could get - not sure why but could acquire some!

all advice is appreciated :D

I put it under my eyelashes under the eye. I don't line inside the eye, as I think it makes the eyes look smaller and can irritate eyes as well.

Also, a lot of magazines recommend women should line their inner eyelid with white eyeliner to make their eyes sparkle, but I think it looks fake and nasty. Sharon from Eastenders always does it.

i only ever put eyeliner on the rims, so i pull the eye down and draw along the inner lash line.
i cannot do the flicky thing that everyone seems to be so adept at. dont think it would suit me anyway
must have eyelash curlers

I'd advise you to get Spanglechick to teach you. The girl changed my make up life!

I agree with liquid liner as I find pencil kind of drags my eyelid too much and gets all bitty. I also go further than the edge of the eye and sweep up a little.

NOT on the eyelid. All depends on the look you want, the size of your eyes and whether they need "opening up" more etc.

yeah, I hate that look too.

i just need to know how..... :D

Well that's basically a straight line over your eyelid which you can do by holding skin down a bit with other hand.

If you want the smokey look, then you do all the smudging effect which is totally different to that effect shown there

LOADS of practice wim.

I don't put eye liner IN my eyes either. Nasty! And bad for your eyes!
For the day I usually just sweep a soft pencil in black just under and very close to the bottom eyelash line with my mascara.
For a night out I add the liquid liner like the above pic. . . .sometimes smudged bottom lash, sometimes not.

No Minnie, found it when I googled. It's how I do my liner though. I am darker than her and wouldn't use that shadow, it isn't my colour! Heh :)

I use a soft crayon thing during the day sometimes. If at night I want it more dramatic look for night time I slightly wet an eyeliner brush and use whatever eyeshadow/cake liner, most on my top lid near the lashes as well as a fine line along the bottom lashes. I've tried liquid liner but I don't like it.

ah now eyeliner i do use! :)

i found a nice pencil one with a smudgy bit on one end to soften the lines. it was by the people Kate Moss models for. can't remember who they are. it's very nice and very black.

another one who's tried liquid liner, and doesn't like it.

A pencil with a smudge bit on the end is a handy! I haven't got one at mo so use cotton buds if I'm in a smudgey mood. :)

yay for smudgey eyeliner pencils! Smokey sultry eyes are cool

White eyeliner inside your lower lid really can make your eyes zap out, have to watch what poencil you use though as some are a bit bitty. :(

You do look very made up with white eyeliner though, so not one for the barely there look usually. :)

my eyes are a bit to pinky to wear white eyeliner, makes them look really bloodshot good to adding a bit of brightness around teh tear duct though, that makes you look fresher, i usually use an eyeshadow there. if i'm wearing an eyeshadow that is.

all this make up talk is making me want to go shopping

Another vote for smudgey pencils here.

My main tip is if you're right handed do your left eye first. Your right I will be easier so you can aim for the shape of your left. iyswim.

Also if you can't be faffed with precision (aside from not blinding yourself!) for quick definition line your upper inner rim (or just under the eyelashes if you have space).

The pencil i use is a wet/dry one, if you wet it you get the effect of liquid liner, more defined but dry and it smudges well for that smoky sultry look.
