Question Excel calendar help needed!

Re Outlook at the multiple calendars thing?

Can't you just set up one team calendar, and have everyone insert their stuff into it, you just need to grant people access to the calendar. Why have numerous calendars when it can be all done from one!

If you've got Sharepoint as part of your intranet 'bells and whistles' this becomes even easier as you can set up a team site and put the calendar in there, which you drag into Outlook should you choose.

Are you using Office 365? Again no idea on what your IT setup is, if you have some form of IT Helpdesk available, just ask them what the best option is for what you want to do and they will probably have a guide or some sort of how to do what you want.

Yes, it's Office 365 I'm a first time user of it, I think it has Sharepoint (that also rings a bell).

Good idea to ask IT actually, they should help.

I don't know what your set up is, if you have a dedicated IT team and if what what their responsibilities are. Either way it might be a good idea to clearly specify what you want your "end solution" to do. If your organisation has Office 365 and Sharepoint then the chances are that it will also have a helpdesk and some sort of incident management/issue tracking system where you can raise a ticket with your request, and have an expert look at it.

If you've got Sharepoint, then it's an absolute doddle!

Ask for a 'team site' to be setup and provide the usernames of all who need access and who will be admin.

Basically you can throw up a calendar in there, people can choose to add it to their outlook, and you can kinda use the site like a facebook feed for team updates, and you can even store documents in it.

It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it should do what you need it to do, and more.

Good! :)

It's the type of thing I used to hack together in Excel before standard email/calendar apps were so sophisticated, but it can be a bit of an arse and you'd have to know what you were doing. Solutions like the above are much more practical these days.

Interesting to see that Wookey's actually your real name too - I didn't know that!

A window cleaner, that's allowed!!

It's dangerous when I do it.

:hmm:
So if I'm reading you rightly, you're saying that it's okay if it's dangerous, as long as it's only dangerous for some EU migrant (probably Eastern European) - because by the time any court case comes around we'll have left the EU and you can tie all the liability up with Article 50/repeal bill bullshit.

Fucking hell Wookey, you make me sick. :(

Pawel would never fall, he's like a coiled cat up that ladder. Besides which, 12 year olds bounce don't they?

2 year olds bounce don't they?
I had already gleaned a few despotic tendencies from you, but I had no idea that you considered child abuse a... hobby?

Horrifying.

No beating around the bush; just answer me this: which of your children have you beaten the least, and why?

Mods, can we look up the IP address of this monster? :(
