Having lived there for admittedly only three months, I'm with MullahNasrudin on Peckham, I can't think of much nice to say about it. The cinema's good. It's near places I like.

Funky little streets? Cracking common? Vibrant street market? Handy for the City? Chunks of wonderful architecture sprinkled extravagantly amongst the mundane and the ugly? Cheapest cinema in London (as you said)? Some good pubs? Artist population? One of the best examples of private sector regeneration? Interesting new library (love it or loathe it, it's certainly noteworthy)? The Pulse?
Personally I prefer it a mile down the road and up the hill but it's far from being the worst part of London and does have some good points.
